How to get back deleted photos?

Hello

My apologies if this message finds you long after posting this problem , but I am currently working through a backlog of problems that never got answered and hopefully this info can still be of use if not now possibly in future.

Please download Disc Digger HERE. This is a free tool you can use that works very well and there is no installation required, just run the program once you downloaded it.

Once you have connected the memory card to the computer via either the camera or preferably with a usb card reader , run the program.

On the program , select the dig deep option for accidentaly deleted files or dig deeper for a formatted card. Then select the card you want to do the recovery on and run the program.

The data will be displayed and you can recover it from there. This will only work if the card has not been used since the pictures were lost. Save the files to a location on the computer hard drive and not back to the memory card as this will overwrite the other pictures that still needs to be recovered.

Some of the properties of the files may become lost in the recovery but the pictures should be fine.

Feel free to ask if you need more assistance.

Kind Regards
Andrea

Does the camera display a light when it is charging? I have it connected to my computer but there doesn't appear to be any evidence of it charging.

As I understand these kind of cameras does not charge when connected to a computer. You need a separate charger. The A460 uses 2x Size-AA Alkaline or NiMH Batteries.

Where to buy flex ribbon for Canon Powershot A460

In a canon certified repair centre. But only if you can show Canon certified you as a repair engineer for their equipment. Why not try ifixit dot com, to see if they can help with spar parts?

My canon A640 shows" Card loked"- how to unlock help please

If you take out the memory card and look at it,it has a little button on the side, slide it over and then slap it back in the camera and that should take care of the problem. If this not working for you then upgrade your camera`s firmware from your manufacture`s website.

Change the batteries message keeps appearing even

This actually a really common problem among Canon point and shoot cameras. There are a couple of methods that have worked well for others.

1. Open the battery compartment and remove the batteries. Then take a regular wooden pencil and place the eraser end down onto the battery contacts. Rotate the pencil to remove any corrosion. Sometimes a lack of proper battery contact will result in the low battery indicator.

2. Take a toothpick and wedge the tip under the battery contact and break it off. This will put more pressure between battery and contacts.

You can also try installing 3rd party firmware at http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CHDK_in_Brief
This is a bit technical and will probably void your warranty, but might be worth the try.

Panasonic 460 smartmedia

If the video is Ok but the photos are white, overexposed and with lines your "shutter"/"diaphragm" is blocked open.I opened my lens to check and a small ribbon cable that controls the shutter is cut (multiple bending when zooming in-out).Solution - change the lens, which is more expensive than buying a new camera.

When i take picture,the picture

this can be usually associated with your white balance in still camera mode.
Check to see your white balance is set correctly or just set it to auto. Also make sure the mode you are in it set. (ie. indoor, outdoor, auto, speed)

White lines picture

If that occurs only in the dark, it could be normal. If it happens on all pictures there must be something wrong with your camera. Not having the camera in my hand and not seeing the pictures it makes, makes it difficult to tell.

I keep getting memory card

There are several possible causes for "memory card locked", "memory card error", or "no memory card". The most common cause is having the tiny slide switch on the side of the card in the wrong position. There are also other common causes if the above didn't help, with troubleshooting steps for this problem listed here.

Which mode are you shooting in?
You may have adjusted the exposure compensation so everything is washed out.

Whatever the cause, your images are overexposed. Try shooting in auto and the camera should take over the settings, but if you are in other modes, check your shutter speed, aperture, & ISO also. These are all things that can cause too much light and wash the picture out/OVEREXPOSE.

If you have any other questions or can give me more details, just ask!

Hope this helps!
