Paper jam with no paper in it

Try this: Tools needed: Flashlight, decently long skinny screwdriver, & possibly a knife or tweezers to drag out small paper remnants.1> Open the main access area, where you would usually replace cartridges, etc.2> Look for the large white gear all the way to the back left to rotate the feed roller, and remove any remnants on the roller, (The grey, sandpapery thing), and any other places visible. (They may already be gone, BUT!)3> You aren't done yet!4> Put the top back down.5> If you haven't already, take your blank paper out of the feed slot.6> Use your flashlight to look down the slot where your blank paper was.7> Look all the way to the right, where the bottom of your paper feeds in. Find the last WHITE thing in that slot: it is nearly at the end. This is probably flush with the rest of the bottom of the feed.8> Use your skinny screwdriver to push it down. You should hear and see it to click back down and stay there, lower than everything else. You just re-engaged your roller.9> If you haven't already, unplug, wait a few secs, and replug your printer.10> Now try to get your printer to go, by doing a Menu/Maintenance/Roller Cleaning, and or printing a page.11> You may get a paper jam error a couple of times after this, but be persistent: after a few times, you should see it start to feed like it should. This worked for me at least. Hope it helps you as well!*8 part B> (In addition, if these instructions do not work on first try, also try pushing the very tiny upper of two black buttons just to the left of the aforementioned white one and give it another go, but try without doing this first).

My Officejet 6310xi All-in-one keeps going to power reset

Hi. I just got off of the phone with an HP case manager. I was ready for a refund, but he helped me and now my printer is working fine. The key is to have your Officejet 6310 plugged directly into a wall socket. The variations of power through a surge protector often cause a power shortage to the unit. The 6310 needs the 110 volts to operate. Surge protectors will sometimes rob the unit of this power. Follow these steps:
1. Unplug the power cable & ethernet/usb cable from the unit (stand alone mode). Let it sit for a minute.
2. Plug the power cable directly into a wall socket. Then plug the power cable into the 6310.
3. After it powers up, push the "Setup" button.
4. Right arrow to "2.Print Report."
5. Press "OK" button.
6. Right arrow to "4.Self-Test Report."
7. Press "OK" button.
A page should print showing alignment and color settings. Now you're back in business!

I have an hp 6310xi all in one printer, i bought

Take a look at my tip on cartridges it may save you a lot of time and money

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3845491-ink_cartridge

OR

Read on and see if any applies to you.
Check that you removed the protective tape. some cartridges have two of these pieces of tape one over the head and possibly on on the contacts to the printer.

If you recently re-filled or had the cartridge refilled or even bought one of the many cheaper replacement cartridges you should read on

Most modern cartridges have an ink level chip built on to them.
Should the level drop below 25% then most of these chips lock up and will not reset.

Re-filling them will have no effect

If you are lucky you should be able to find either a
chip resetter around on the INTERNET or maybe even local

OR

Even better empty cartridges that
never need to be reset.
The second option is my preference

I realise these are not for your specific printer but there are others listed on both those sites as well.

cheaper cartridge problems have been on the rise recently and that is for ALL makes of printer.
If you try to clean the contacts be VERY careful cleaning contacts and ONLY use isopropynol on a lint free bud or cloth.
Also be very gentle.

I have seen the contacts cleaned and cartridges ruined with other methods of cleaning.
Rubbing too hard can also cause a badly set chip to move making it inoprable.

I dont like full prices replacements either which is why I always provide the links
I usually reccomend that people take back any cartridge that does not work right from the get-go.

I dont know of anyone who has had a problem doing that be it a shop refill or otherwise.

No matter if I paid $1 or $100 for a cartrdige I would still expect it to work
Hope this gives you the information you need

Hp All in one 6310 Unable to Scan no computer

In most cases the printer driver software can have errors while being in use or is shut down. So to reset remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer software. Now reinstall the printer software and then connect the Printer ONLY WHEN PROMPTED, to be detected as a new hardware as it will be installed. Now check the printer properties to see the ink levels. Activate head cleaning before a test is taken. Use the priint to calibrate the scanner and check if detected. If not there is issues on the motherboard.

I want to scan documents and save them in a pdf

Do you have the full software installed? Is Adobe Reader installed? (Install it if it isn't on the computer.) If you have the HP Solution Center (Windows) installed, launch the program. Then choose Scan Document. Cancel the scan and choose Settings. Click on Scan Settings and then Document Settings. You should be able to find the Save as PDF option there. Then make sure check the box for checking settings before scanning and save your new settings. Click on the Home button and scan your document.

If you choose Scan Picture, you will not get the Save as PDF option. If you are launching the scans from the all-in-one, you may need to adjust the scan button defaults elsewhere in the solution center. (The software you choose as a scan to destination may limit the available file types in the HP scan software.)

If you do not have the HP full software installed, unplug your data cable (if USB) and uninstall the driver that is currently installed. Go to http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=1119598& and select your OS version. Click Next. Expand the section marked Driver and choose the full software. Download and install the software and replace the data cable when prompted to do so.

I hope this helps.

My HP Officejet 6300 won't print. I am pretty sure

Hi

Sometimes the printheads get clogged up and even a HP clean facility will not shift it.

You could try putting some hot water in a jam jar lid and soaking for a few minutes and then dry with some kitchen towel.... This may do the trick as it will desolve the clog and allow the ink to flow again.
