I leave in Toronto, Canada.

Keep in mind that the camcorder could be asking about some driver (according with your Operative System) for 32bit or 64bit (for pc or laptop respectively).

If this is the problem, try to check and donwload the right driver/software from this link -->> esupport.sony/DCRDVD108

Are you try to check the files contained in the CD pc Explorer way?

Keep us updated.

I need to replace internal

The internal battery is usually located in the recessed left panel where the lcd display is housed when not in use. Flip the lcd display open and look for a plastic rectangular covering which can be pried off. You will need to use a stout tooth pick, a paper clip end or a small metal prying tool to remove the plastic covering. Once you pop it off, you should see the battery. The battery may be spot soldered in place so this is really not a user serviceable operation although you may get away with a replacement if done very carefully.

Hi,

The model of your camcorder only allows you to record onto a DVDR or a DVDRW. The purpose of your memory stick only allows you to capture still images. Further, no options for memory stick recording provided in the recording menu.

Movie recording disabled

Most probably it is an issue with the disc. If the disc is corrupted, it will display the error message to prevent spoiling the lens head of the Camcorder. Please use a different disc and it should resolve the issue. If the issue persists with different discs, it may require service.. However, I suggest that you reset the Camcorder by pressing the Reset button behind the LCD panel on the Camcorder) Please make sure that you have turned ON the Camcorder while pressing the reset button.

Is there anyway to make this sony handycam support

Unfortunately, the Camcorder does not support USB streaming. Hence we cannot use it for streaming live videos to Computer using USB interface.
However, you can use the A/V interface, it is difficult process, still if you need to use, connect the A/V output to Computer A/V input if the Computer has one, then use a A/V compatible steaming software.
Most of the Messengers and online streaming applications may not support streaming from A/V..
However, it is not a bad idea of connect the A/V interface if your computer has one A/V input as the A/V cable is already supplied with the Camcorder.
Pleaser remove the tape and Memory stick from the Camcorder when you try to use as webcam/streaming mode

Error message "lens not open properly" unable to

Hello

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair centre for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

You can also have a look at THIS link.

Hope the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to let me know if you need any further assistance. Also, please be so kind to let me know if you found this helpful.

Andrea

When recording I get no

Hi,
This kind of problem occurs due to two possible failures, either ccd imager chip or jammed aperture in camera lens mechanism.
Turn On camcorder while looking in lens, you will notice aperture opens like an eye opens, if that happens that means aperture is working and ccd imager chip is bad, replacement of this chip will solve problem and local camera repair shop will do this job because camcorder will take apart and soldering work is required. Jammed aperture job is even more harder and qualified tech is required to do that.
Hope these info will help you.
Thanks.
