this might be as a result of weak disc lens

I would recommend making sure the disc being used is finalised first to make sure this helps to stop the issue.

How can I fix the movie recording disabled on Sony Handycam 40x???

Recording Disabled appears on the screen when I want to record anything, can not get this to function properly.... How can I fix this problem????? Sony Handycam 40x

Hi there. I undertand how upset you must be. I would be if it happened to me. Did you check the manual for this error code?

If you didn't, I'll tell you what it means. It means one of 2 things: 1) you have a bad disk or:
2) you are trying to use a disk that has been finalized. Once a disk has been finalized, it cannot be recorded on.

I'm sorry, I know it's a bummer, and it's not what you wanted to hear, but it happens occasionally. There is no fix for it. You just have to get a new disk and record it again.
