The popping noise is coming from the carriage belt jumping on the drive motor cog. It indicates that the cartridge carriage is jamming while the motor keeps spinning. It may be due to a wedge of paper at either end of the carriage bar (horizontal rod) or it may be due to a failing main board circuit.

Hello, Make sure your printer is connected too the pc. If it is, then bring up pc and then click on the hp solution center and choose scan. If the icon isn't on the desktop. You will have to reload software.

Hi, it prints ok for a short while 2-3 pages then no black print the vent hole of the cartridge is plugged. You may have filled cartridge and forgot to take tape off the vent hole. Hope this helps this drove me crazy for a long time. Mr Chirpy

Restart you computer. If this is windows and you cannot restart your computer then go the the start icon. in the search type services.msc then you will see an icon of gears next to services.msc. Click on that, then you will see a list then go down to print spooler right click that and restart. if that completes with out an error, then close out of that window.

I have a Canon printer. Whenever pictures or text gets a double or blurry image I open the printer solutions menu. It sounds as though there is a problem with inkjet alignment. By clicking the realignment button the printer will automatically realign the jets. I usually test the alignment by printing a page from that program. All the line segments should line up.

Hi Julie,First of all, make sure the alignment is complete. As you should be knowing, it prints a colorful sheet whenever you replace the cartridges. IF you are not able to print from PC, It could be due to corrupted Drivers. You have to uninstall the software and reinstall.Regards,Sean

Assuming you have a refilled or remanufactured cartridge there this is actually pretty normal. These cartridges have no means of checking for new ink in the cartridge so will continue to warn of empty. They will not however stop you from printing as a result.If however you purchased the cartridge as a brand new cartridge, you may have been miss-sold the cartridge. In which case I would advise speaking to whoever it was purchased from.
