hi,

is the ink cartridge you replaced hp brand or did you refill it this is an incompatibility code from the software. some brands and cartridges are not fully compatible and creates an e code error code. if it is hp brand it is likely a defective sensor chip in the ink cartridge. i would for best assurance return the cartridge for a different one and then recheck. if niot you may need to restore your software or reinstall it most of the time this will fix the problem.

I have just moved from the US to Shanghai with my HP C7280 printer. Bought some new cartridges from the HP dealer in Shanghai after our US supply ran out. Got the 'Incorrect Ink Cartridge' message on the printer after installing them, which the dealer probably knew I would get and didn't tell me, which I'm assuming is what you got.
My experience was to use the 'Chat' function on the HP.com web site in the Support area. The good news is that they solved my problem, the bad news is that it took 1 1/2 hours and is the most convoluted process I've experienced in years. There is a little 'voodoo' going on the background......... after having me find several values, including cartridge serial number values (no not the cartridge number on the cartridge), reset values, and others I can't remember, he said he had to go 'calculate' and he then came back with 5 four digit numbers I had to enter after going to Windows Control Panel -->Printers and after getting my printer selected and the Preferences screen displayed, clicking on the HP logo while holding the CRTL key down (I kid you not).

Sooooooo, I believe the only solution is to use HP Support and to also write letters complaining about how really, really, really stupid this process is. And being the conspiracy theorist that I can be, HP probably was seeing lost revenue from people buying cartridges that are cheaper in parts of the world and shipping them to where HP is, ahem, making a killing and padding their profits.......

only do this if it is not done yetdownload or install the software for hp photosmart c3180 onlinerun the software _________start from here____________goto my computer and look under printers, scanners, and copiers.now it is installed with pc you can use it by itself or with pcput in what ever you want to copy(scan) then hit scan or what ever function you need done

remove the top cover of cartridge and just use your common scence you will refill it

check the ports first.. make sure that the printer is set as default ( make sure it has the green tick and the status "ready" or "online" on the printer icon in the printers&faxes. and if u want to connect it wirelessly, you have to install it as usb first before changing to wireless........

Hi Julie,First of all, make sure the alignment is complete. As you should be knowing, it prints a colorful sheet whenever you replace the cartridges. IF you are not able to print from PC, It could be due to corrupted Drivers. You have to uninstall the software and reinstall.Regards,Sean

I have a Canon printer. Whenever pictures or text gets a double or blurry image I open the printer solutions menu. It sounds as though there is a problem with inkjet alignment. By clicking the realignment button the printer will automatically realign the jets. I usually test the alignment by printing a page from that program. All the line segments should line up.

Clean the Carts with Isopropyl Achohol, Open the printer settings, right click on the Printer Icon, open properties, Maintenance, clean print heads.

Assuming you have a refilled or remanufactured cartridge there this is actually pretty normal. These cartridges have no means of checking for new ink in the cartridge so will continue to warn of empty. They will not however stop you from printing as a result.If however you purchased the cartridge as a brand new cartridge, you may have been miss-sold the cartridge. In which case I would advise speaking to whoever it was purchased from.

Hi,If the carriage totally stuck on the right side of the printer, Unplug the printer from Power outlet.Open the front access door. You will see the cartridges. Remove the cartridges. Check for any paper stuck in the Carriage Rod. Try to manually move the carriage 5-6 times left to right and it should move without any trouble. Put the cartridges back into the Cartridge slot and power on the printerIf the Carriage does not move manually, there could be chances the printer needs mechanical repair as its broken.Regards,Sean
