Why my tv keeps freezing up and have no sound?

There is nothing wrong with the TV. It has to do with the signal from the cable TV provider. I got a new cable box and it helped, but still get some freezing once in awhile.

T.V. comes on for a few seconds, the green light

Hi,

Your power supply board is dead, u know basic electronics' and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors. These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get your TV power stable, and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

Good luck in solving the problem....

I TURN THE TV ON

You have a defective shunt regulator. This will cause your TV to come on for 1 or 2 seconds as you describe. The IC650 is bad. The B + supplies fail to switch to full power. In layman garb, you will need a new or refurbished power supply board. There is nothing wrong with a refurbished board.A refurbished board has been tweaked (reworked to optimum performance)and many times will out live a new board. Find an authorized Philips TV shop, show them this note. Good information may result in a reasonable repair. Thanks for asking and show all hands of support!
