Sylvania 6632LG 32 in. LCD HDTV Questions & Answers
Blows fuse
you have a short, most likely on the front side of the power supply.
Sylvania Model 6632LG shuts down
Check power supply board and inverter board for faulty solder connections and visually inspect electrolytic capacitors for signs of stress or failure. Bulging tops, black or brown crusty material oozing out of them, are the most common. Replace those that are visibly faulty with high ripple current types. If that does not resolve it, the next step is to test the transistors in the 24 volt section and inverter section primarily. Recapping the power supply 24 volt section is prudent regardless of physical appearance of the electrolytic capacitors.

shawn mitche, Mostlikely the internal ac to dc multiple output dc switch-mode-power-supply is in Partial "shutdown mode" and you or electronics technician will need to explore WHY it has FAILED. If no warranty then do your own VISUAL ONLY check of SMPS circuit board for the BAD, FAILED, CAPACITORs that you may (or may not) find. Protect the lcd panel AT ALL COSTS!!! You damage the panel.... it's a "you bought it, you own it, TOYOTA!!! Watch some video clips at YOUTUBE and you will see them even working on them on their beds!!! Work on a sturdy table covered with a clean "throw rug" to protect bezel of unit.Do your research on the web and here at fixya first before attempting any repair of your unit. Do comment back with your intentions. 12fixlouie
My tv does not power on and I also have checked
When you press the power button do any front panel lights come on? If so, turn out all lights and then turn on the tv. See if you can barely see a picture or any light in the background. LCD tv's work about the same as conventional flourescent lighting. Each light has a ballast (transformer) and when it completely charges up you have light. When the transformer starts to go bad you get flickering of the light or no light. On LCD tv's you can find capacitors on the power supply that when they charge up the back lights power on which shows the picture. If the capacitors are too weak or shot then the back lights do not come on leaving the screen dark. If this is your problem take it to a repair shop or have a technician come to your house and fix it. Hopefully this is all it is. You can also try to hold your power button in for about five to 15 seconds to see if the tv resets. How old is the tv?
Remote won't work
to test your remote get your digital camera turn it on and point the remote at the camera you should see a the remote
light up on the screen if not then you need a remote and you can get a new one on the Funai web site . that who makes your set good luck
TV does not not turn on
These flat panel tv's all have a problem with bad leaky capacitors. look for any capacitors ( round cylinder shape with a metal top) that have the top rounded over (bulged up) that part would be bad.
Sylvania 6632 LG blows fuse when plugged in
I too had this problem. I read some posts on this site about how to repair it, and low behold, they worked! I took the back off of the TV, and the first thing I found was the fuse was blown. With my meter, I checked the first 1N5406 rectifier diode after the fuse, and found that it had shorted out. Then I had to learn to desolder the diode, which I learned about on Youtube. I bought a pair replacement diodes at Radioshack for $1.49 and four replacement 125 volt 4 amp fuses. The whole repair cost about $5.00 and a few hours about learning about electronics. The TV works great! Good times!
