Blackberry Pearl won't stay connected to radio
If it was spotty reception, I'd suggest the antenna may have been damaged when dropped. They do get damaged.
But systemic, timed 16 second bursts?
In Settings, when is your phone configured to 'go to sleep'? After how long a period of inactivity?
It may not be considering the radio signal is be sufficient activity to justify keeping it 'awake'.
Block
some mobile telephone numbers can only be blocked by your service provider, I know from personal experience, Had to block a cell number, and my cell phone provider had to do it for me, so contact them, I am sure they can help you get the number(s) blocked

To change your browser, just follow this steps .
* Open any browser
* Click the Menu option
* Click the Options menu item
* Click the General properties menu item
* and then set the default browser
If you wish to switch your browser to the previous one or any browser,here it is.
* Open any browser
* Click the menu option
* Click the Go To.. option
* at the Go To prompt click the menu button again
* Select the option Change Browser
* Select the browser you wish to change to..

The BlackBerry smartphone displays the JVM 523 error message:
For BlackBerry smartphones running BlackBerry Device Software version 4.1, this error may occur if a third-party browser channel icon has a HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP) redirect.
OR
When a locked BlackBerry smartphone with content protection enabled receives a Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) message, this error may occur. This error only occurs with the Today themes in BlackBerry Device Software version 4.2.2.
Download and install the latest version of BlackBerry Device Software on the BlackBerry smartphone by following these steps:
Download the latest version of BlackBerry Device Software from your wireless service provider's web site.
Install BlackBerry Device Software on your BlackBerry smartphone.
BlackBerry Device Software version 4.1 (only)
If you are running BlackBerry Device Software version 4.1, you need to complete the following steps:
Complete one of the following, depending on the network on which the BlackBerry smartphone is operating:
· For BlackBerry smartphones operating on a Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) network, contact your service provider and have the BlackBerry Internet Service Browsing deactivated.
· For BlackBerry smartphones operating on a Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM), remove the Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card from the BlackBerry smartphone.
Perform a hard reset on the BlackBerry smartphone.
Turn the wireless transceiver off.
Click the Browser icon.
Expand the Browser Channels folder.
Highlight a third-party browser push channel.
Display the menu and click Delete Channel.
Repeat steps 7 and 8 for each third-party browser push channel.
Complete one of the following, depending on the network on which the BlackBerry smartphone is operating:
· For BlackBerry smartphones operating on a CDMA network, contact your wireless service provider and have the BlackBerry Internet Service Browsing activated.
· For BlackBerry smartphones operating on a GSM network, reinsert the SIM card.
Turn on the wireless transceiver.
Register the BlackBerry smartphone on the wireless network.
Subscribe to the third-party browser push channels again.

Change the theme on the BlackBerry smartphone to one other than the Today theme by completing the following steps:
From the Home screen on the BlackBerry smartphone, select Options.
Select Theme.
Select any theme that is not the Today theme.
Display the menu and select Activate.

I fully charge the phone but within 48 hours,even
Don't panic this is quite normal.
Even when you are not using the phone it is still on and actively connected to your service network. Therefore using battery power.
Actually to get 48 hours from your handset is very good.
Normally you would have to re-charge the 81xx series at least every 24 hours.
I was charging mine every 12-14 hours.
