That is a black ink stick count failure. It is not seeing the black ink stick. See if a stick is broken or not in place. One may be twisted or just jammed. Outside chance you would need an ink loader because the sensor is not detecting the ink Check the black sticks see if you can clear it by moving them around or sliding them up and out and reloading.
Testing the Ink Out SensorsUse this procedure to test if an Ink Out Sensor?s flag works correctly. 1.Remove ink sticks from the ink loader?s channels. 2.Place the printer in Diagnostics Mode by: Service method a. Turning on the printer and as XEROX appears on the screen, press and hold the Back and Help button until Beginning Service Mode Initialization appears. b. Scroll to and execute test Monitor: Sensors Customer method a.While error code displayed, press UP arrow and OK key. b.Scroll to Troubleshooting: Service Tools: Enter Diagnostic Mode.(Printer restarts). c.Select test 82: Monitor Sensors.Press OK. d.Scroll to 01: Exit Diagnostics and press OK to return to customer mode. 3.Insert the clean eraser end of a pencil thru the lowermost oval slot.(The eraser end of a pencil closely simulates the bottom rail shape of a Xerox ink stick.) Slide the pencil down the white channel guide until the sensor is tripped.A sensor change is displayed on the control panel. When the flag is depressed, the front panel will read <color> Ink Present H. When released, the reading will change to L.The test will only display a reading when a sensor change occurs. If a flag is stuck, no sensor reading will be displayed on the front panel. If it doesnt change states you need to replace the ink loader
If the ink sticks look in good condition you need to replace the ink loader as tryit suggests. I have seen many fail, especially when someone uses non-Xerox brand ink. Here is a video that will show you how to replace it. Also covers the 8500, 8550, and 8560 though the part numbers are different.
Hey, here is a video I made displaying how to replace the ink loader, also shows you the current part #'s. This will fix almost all error codes starting w/ 09,0XX.XX (where the XX's are the rest of the error code) Hope this helps any1 trying to do this. GOOD LUCK!
No. That maintenance kit has a chip attached to it. That will reset the machine, It is just a white roll impregnated with silicon to clean and maintain the surface on the drum. It will take replacement of the kit to reset the machine.
One of the reasons this could be happening is because you are using non-xerox ink so your print head needs to clean it out much more often. Be careful using other ink as this can destroy the machines printhead which is more expensive then the machine itself to replace. What you could try is installing the new printhead firmware, it might help! Follow the link below and good luck!
That error code indicates a problem with the ink loader, 09.038 is the black chute. Make sure you are using genuine Xerox ink sticks and that the chute is clear of debris. Next enter Service Diagnostics mode by powering on the machine and hold the back and help buttons at the same time as it boots until it says it is beginning service mode. Once the menu is displayed, go to function, clear ISC Fault and press OK. If this hasn't fixed the problem you will need to replace the ink loader, part # 133K27771. You can buy one here. I will be making a video on how to replace this part later this week, if you need it let me know. - Steven
That error states that the ink counter sensor flags are stuck. 9,038 means it is the black one. Make sure there is no blockage in the ink loader and that you are using Genuine Xerox ink sticks. If both of those are fine you need to replace the ink loader. The part # is 133K27711, iteminconline.com has it in stock and can ship same day. Good luck!
I was having the same problem. Turns out the IP address in the printer was incorrect. Once I changed the IP address the printer works just fine through our network again. Find your IP address off your server and follow these steps:
1.Choose Info on display menu, press okay button 2.Choose Info pages, press okay 3.Configuration pages-printer info, press okay 4.IP address should read: Correct IP Address number should be displayed on screen. If not follow these steps to change it: 1.Find printer setup on display menu, press okay 2.Go to connection setup-press okay 3.Network setup-press okay 4.TCP/IP setup-press okay 5.Auto should show as “Off” 6.TCP/IP should show as “On” 7.DHCP/Boot should show as “Off” If any of these are not listed on display correctly press ok, reset to either On or Off and then enter correct IP address. Press okay button and follow steps on display menu to exit back to main menu display screen.
that is a part of that printer design. Something sadly you can not get rid of. Believe me, I have tried, and Xerox engineering told me that is part of how the machine is supposed to work. Wish we could eliminate that.
You need to remove the maintanence kit and clean the wiper blades there and where the paper comes out of the machine at the top. See below and check when your maintenance kit runs out and how to replace it!
