14 month old Akai LCT3201AD wouldn't turn off with remote yesterday until I got with in a few feet of sensor. Changed batteries now the TV won't turn on. Push power on set or remote, green light comes on for a few seconds then switches back to red. Tried unplugging the power over night. Same response as last night, then wouldn't turn green at all. Unplugged it again for 30 minutes, back to green light coming on for a few seconds then back to red. Help, were do I take it? can it be fixed? Live in rural northern Minnesota.
ftry to unplug it and push the on/off switch...plug it back in and see if it will turn on

Puff of smoke, nasty smell, won't come on even standby led is off. Opened case and found power supply board fried (burn marks). Unable to find anyone within 100 miles willing to fix it - the only two shops that even handle Akai are doing only warranty work because they have so much. Akai has the power supply (MLT-169A) but won't sell it to me because I am not an authorized servicer. MegMeet (manufactures power supply) so far has not answered my emails. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to buy a power supply? (I can easily put it in once I get it).
Partstore .com has a board for this tv part #E7801-P02002 for $125.00 I ordered one my self.

ANy idea what the 5 digit remote code would be for the Comcast digital remote for AKAI. The ones in their book don't work and I haven't been able to locate it with code search. Actually my TV is the 26 inch LCD HD TV with DVD player
Go here: http://www.remotecodelist.com/remotes/ look it up by type of remote then to the device code...

AKAI LCT3201AD Tv will not stay on when you turn it on the light changes to green and then in about 10 seconds turns red again. TV is 1 1/2 years old. For awhile we were able to unplug it and plug it back in and then it would turn on now it will not do that. Is it worth fixing??
I have just repaired one of these sets for the 2nd time. The problem is definitely the Capacitors on the Main Power Supply Board. If you are handy, you could replace them yourself, or You can send your board to me and I will make the repair for you. Akai initially used what I feel are sub-standard Capacitors on these boards, and I have found that by replacing most of them, this problem can be eliminated. My email address for repairs is [email protected]

I have exactly the same tv and problem you had. I pulled the PS from the tv and checked the fuse. It was OK. So I guess it is the whole board. How did you order the power supply and how much was it?
Thanks.

My TV keeps turning itself off. It will turn back on for about 30 seconds when we hit the power button on the remote, then it turns itself off again,. The number on our TV seems to say LCT3215A
If the service shops didn't charge people $200 to fix this I would not post.. But since they do - here's the $8 fix.
If you are electronically inclined, replace the three 1000uf 16v
electrolytic capacitors in the power supply board located above the
power switch. They are likely bulging out at the top and failed. They
are the three in a row at the top - center of the board, located
between the two black heat sinks. Make sure you get caps rated for 105c
degrees! I recommend replacing them with 1000uf 25v caps. 35v caps will
work but might be a tight fit as they are larger diameter.
Should cost you about $8 for the parts shipped. You can get them from
partsexpress or digikey or any good local electronics store. Your local
radio shack may have them but they won'y be 105c and thus may not last
long.
Not handy, ask around, there is usually some electronic tweaker guy around that will install them for a few bucks.
This has solved the turns on / then off problem every time in the 3 I've done.

TV picture won't come up. TV powers on as indicated by light at base of screen, but no picture shows. Have removed power cord and all peripheral cords then restored power, but still no picture. TV was inadvertently left on overnight with screen saver from Sony dvd player on. TV was in AV mode all night. This morning, no picture. Can you offer suggestions
We have just been working on this exact problem and have a page with all the details -

model #lct32sha was working and was turned off to never turn on again with or without remote, possible cause?
We just repaired ours - same problems (did not replacc the 1000uF and 470uF Capacitors in secondary yet as ours were still OK, but the FET was killed by an arcing capacitor across a diode,
See the page we created for this with pictures.
Be careful - High voltage!
