The fault to your TV might not due to a defective capacitor. A higher capacitance valued capacitor, won't do nothing wrong. But as the capacitance value increases, the size of the capacitor will too increase. That's all. Check the fuse at the power supply regulator board. If it is found opened, make sure that something wrong with the power supply regulator board. Without rectifying the fault, never replace a fuse, as it will make things worse.

According to Akai, the base stand for this unit is not available as a replacement part. You may want to try ebay for a replacment stand.

Well the default is to obtain the channels signal. most channels over the world their audio output signal is mono. Rare tvs have the ability to save indivisual channel to their memmoty. Read the tv prospectus!!!

Change input device to some other like a DVD player and see. Look for any loose contacts in power outlet or jammed buttons on remote or on control panel.Switch off TV, switch off power, remove plug and wait for 48 hours and retry. If problem persists, call in a qualified service technician.
