Dell 3010cn Laser Printer - Page 9 Questions & Answers
How can I fix printer to print?
Make sure if its an older printer your nozzles where ink is transfered isn't clogged, if its not printing it could be that. Simply use some rubbing alcohol on a cloth nd rubbed them gently, let sit so it can open it up. I have no expierence with your specific printer. Make sure ink yea you may think you have ink but computers arent always correct, 2) make sure ink is all the way in. if it saying that paper is out you may have to re-insert your installation disk, and fix any errors. I hope this helps
How do you remove toner cartridge from a Dell
This is how to Install or replace the Toner Cartridge.
Install or replace the toner cartridge while the printer is on (if the power is not on, the cartridge carrier does not rotate).
1. After confirming the Insert Yellow Toner(Y) message, open the front door.
2. Hold the tape on the protective cover and pull it forward to remove the cover from each cartridge slot.
NOTE: You need to remove the protective cover only the first time that you install the toner.
NOTE: Dispose of the protective cover after you remove it.
NOTE: The protective cover is attached to each toner cartridge mount.
3. Make sure the color of the toner cartridge matches the slot on the toner cartridge carrier. The order is Y, M, C, K. Gently shake the cartridge to distribute the toner evenly.
4. Lift the tab up 90 degrees and pull the toner seal straight off, keeping it parallel with the toner cartridge.
5. To insert the toner cartridges, align the arrows on the cartridge with the corresponding arrows on the printer. Guide the cartridge in until it snaps into place and then push down the handhold to lock the cartridge in place.
6. Close the front door.
NOTE: Make sure the toner cartridge is installed correctly. Otherwise, the front door cannot close firmly.
7. The toner cartridge carrier rotates to the next empty slot. When the color of the newly inserted cartridge appears on the display, followed by the Insert message, insert the next toner cartridge.
8. Repeat steps 1 through 7 when inserting the remaining cartridges.
Cheers!!
Cannot remove toner cartridge
There is a manual removal option. Open the front cover. Then the top. Remove the drum. Close the front cover. (leave the top open). Move the toner housing unit so the required toner is accessable from the back. Remove.
Replace drum. Restart printer. The housing unit shoud rotate the empty spot to the front so you can insert the new toner.
Good luck.
Vertical line on copies
A vertical line on laser copiers which are the same lenght apart on each indicates a dirty or defective toner cartridge or dirty or defective rollers. Take the cartridge out and wipe the rollers with a soft cloth. If the streaks continue then the rollers inside the cartridge or damaged. You will need to replace the toner cartridge. Dell Print Quality Problems: Horizontal lines On One Side
Try running a cleaning sheet through the printer. Remove the drum and check you waste toner (if that is built-in to your drum then skip this). If that gets full, then some of the bad toner can spill out creating lines/smuges. I would also use compressed air to blow out the inside of the printer where the toner/drum goes. That will help remove anything that is left behind after a replacement.
Also, check the settings in the print server for anything that will clean the printer/correct horizontal lines.
Dell Printer Problem
Open the front door. On the right side of the printer a small door will open. Inside is the cleaning rod. Pull it all the way out and push it all the way back a good 20-30 times. Try again. See if that helps.
Dell 3010 Color Laser only printing 3/4 of the page!
Typically this happens when one of the toners are not locked completely into place. Try, forcefully, to reseat each toner.
What's happening is the laser is being blocked by the locking mechanism of the toner cartridge not closed completely.
Good luck.
Printer
Firstly, BE SURE TO USE LASER PRINTER TRANSPARANCIES. The cheaper inkjet kind will melt in the fuser.
Then, in all 3: driver, software program and on the printer itself using the front panel, change the paper type to transparency.
Good luck.
Paper Jam 075-134
Be sure to remove the big drum cartridge (blue handle under top cover) and check both doors in the back. After that if you don't see any paper look very carefully for stuck/broken plastic flaps (about 1/2 - 1/3 an inch in size).
How to solve repeated paper jams in Dell 3010 laser printer
Replace the pick rollers. If you're out of warranty it'd be mighty expensive to have Dell replace them, but, if you call them, they can get you access to a website (I can't remember the name...sorry) that has walk through tear-downs with pictures of each and every step. (Only do this if you're handy and have time)
Otherwise, replacement is the next option.
Typically Jams on this unit are from worn rollers. :)
Good luck.
Dell 3010 cn error message 093-960
Try reseating all the toners. Often times when one isn't seated 100% correctly it causes errors in others. Typically the black cartridge affects the Yellow sensors.
Set up Dell 3010cn as network printer
Have you set it up on the network already or is this the first time? If you have set it up, you can access the network interface by inputting the printers IP address in your internet browser address bar.
If you are unsure of the current IP (assuming it's connected) try print a settings page. It should be on there.
Dont know what to do.
Typically this happens because the toner is misseated. These printers are comparably difficult to install toners into. Try to remove the toners and the drum and reinstall all of them again. When you install them, be sure to lock the cartridges all the way before moving on.
Good luck
I have been told i need to down load msi 3.0
Hi JD,
An MSI 3.0 is software that is used to install other software. You can get this from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=5FBC5470-B259-4733-A914-A956122E08E8&displaylang=en
That should solve the issue.
Thanks,
ArmyMason
