It wont turn on now

You need to open it up and check the main AC fuse in the power supply module, it will be labeled with F? on the board, also look at the caps for leakig/bulging top/seal.

I am trying to program my directv remote D10-300

use the auto mode first make sure you have the device on first then in the instructions it tells you how to put the remote in the auto mode. follow the directions usually putting the mode in the search mode then pressing the power button slowly untill the set turns off. you will need to look at the remote manual to be sure or it is also on the website for your provider then you press the enter key. if you go through all the codes and the button blinks twice or goes off than your tv set cannot be used by the remote you have dont go to fast as you may need to do it all over again if you go too fast as you will skip over the right code. a lot of folks ask for codes but unless you have a programmable remote or a l4earning remote you cannot enter codes into a remote as all the codes are already flashed into the ROM chip inside the remote.Good Luck!!!!! techman

Television turns on and then shuts off immediately

Hi!

Undoubtedly a problem in the power supply. I see them fairly often. It's not a problem that I recommend that you tackle on your own unless you've experience with electronic repair - you could inadvertantly do more harm than good.

Find your self a local "mom & pop" repair shop. Ask your friends. Call the chamber of commerce. There is someone out there that will charge you a FAIR price to get you up and running again.

Good luck!

Akai LCT3701AD has blue screen only, no picture.

Hi,

Unplug the Unit for Few Minutes, say 30 Minutes and then Turn it ON. If the problem persists, his is definitely going to be an internal repair which I know you did not want to hear so I am sorry to be the one to tell you.

But this could be a failure caused by many different components, I will try to lay them out the best possible for you below, I will go in order of most likely to worst case.

Hopefully you have a failure in the power supply, we have seen some capacitors on your model fail and cause weird things, I personally have not seen them cause this particular problem but it is very possible that they have. If this is the cause then you could be looking at $150-$200 for a repair.

OK well i am going to change my answer here in mid stream because I just pulled your model up to see what the parts cost and found a big note that said "This model is a NON REPAIRABLE ITEM" all parts for this model are not available as per the MFG.

So unless we do find bad capacitors in your set it looks like it is time to replace it with a new unit. This is bad bad news, but unfortunately I have seen it on a lot of AKAI's lately.

Let me know, if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

In order for us to turn on our tv, we must first

I had the same problem a few years ago. I hate to tell you, but as far as I know it is actually broken. You might want to take it to a professional or, if you've got the money, it would be worth just buying another one. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I wish you luck!

Most likely a power supply component has aged and thus changed value and/or failed. Take it to a reputable repair person. Let them know about your situation. In my shop the repair would be free except for parts.

Akai Reomte has stopped working, Universal Remotes will not

I recently bought a used LCT2060 that had no remote. I figured my comcast cable remote would work without a problem but it didn't. So 3 universal remotes later I found my solution...a radio shack2_bing.gif universal gamer remote. It controls up to 5 components plus your xbox360, playstation and pc. The price on sale was a mere 12.97, not bad if you ask me. Hope this helped. The code that worked for the Akai2_bing.gif was 11676. Take care...

We made a terrible mistake

What I could suggest is to purchase a separate retractable TV wall mounting kit. It has standard size of screws.
