TV turns on and

Sounds like the main power board is overheating.

Try blowing out the back of the TV with a couple of cans of compressed air to remove built up dust and debris.

Hope this helps!

On a 45 lg plasma what are white wash and orbiter

These are different effects that will come on to the screen to help prevent plasma burns. It is a similar idea to a screen saver on your PC if the image is static for too long.

I have a lg42pc3d plasma

Yes usually the x and y sustain boards go. Not always with both fail, but they communicate with eachother...this is why replacing both is "good practice." You can check shopjimmy, ebay and encompass parts for parts online. Just order new replacements...you can tell a bad board usually by burn marks, popped capacitors, etc.

Good luck and thank you very much!drewpalmer04_83.jpg

PICTURE DARK IN SPOTS, HORIZOTAL DARK PATCH AREA

Hi,

When there are blocks missing from the screen ( dark or black spots ) the usual culprit is the "logic buffers", they are circuit boards that are spaced evenly across the top and sometimes the bottom of the TV on the inside.

They control the addressing of the picture information on the TV. When one goes bad then usually a large block of the picture will also go out.

I do not recommend a DIY fix on a plasma TV as it is a dangerous high voltage environment inside there.

If you have electronics repair experience and would like to repair it, revert and i would be glad to add few inputs to the diagnosis. If you call in a pro you can look to spend about $200-$300 as the buffers aren't that expensive.Be advised that in few cases, it is faulty screen, however more often it is bad logic buffers that cause this.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

My plasma has sound but no picture, and green light

Hello,

Problem is in either power supply or the Y-Sustain board.

The Y-Sustain is a relatively large board out of which go connections to the side of the display; it's therefore closer to either the left or the right side of the display, has at least one rather large heat sink on it and fat power cables connecting it to the main power supply.

Often there are fuses on that board - one or more. Check those.

if they are blown you can try to replace them, but expect them to blow again - usually the whole board needs to be replaced.

I hope this will help in solving the problem....

The Remote will not operate the tv.I can turn it

Hello
Just check the remote control for its infrared emission. You can do this with a cellphone with camera option. Infrared radiation is not visible to human eye, but electronic camera can sense it. Hold the remote control about one feet or so away from the cellphone camera lens, after set the phone to camera mode, press each button on the remote handset. If infrared emission is there, you can see its image on the screen of the cellphone. If there is no image, remote control is damaged. If there is image on the screen; and still your TV not respond to it, the infrared sensor inside the TV is faulty and shoould be replaced. OK.

I have a LG 42pc3d-ud

From your description it sounds like your TV it's actually on you just can't see a picture. That is usually caused by your Zustain boards. The zustain boards are located on the left and teh right side of the TV. You can check the fuses to see if one of them is blown or you can leave it on and see if one of them does not heat up. You would have to replace the board. You can find part at www.interliquidparts.com

Pop heard lost picture still

Hi
A common problem for these is bad capacitors in the power supply, Remove the back from your Tv and look at the power supply on the left hand side.

You will see roughly around 9 x capacitors that are bulged / domed shaped on top usually these are valued at 3300uf 10V any that have bulged or leaked a brown like substance should be changed.
This will cure the problem as they overheat being sat next to a heatsink that gets very hot!
Try and change them for the same 3300uf but a higher voltage.
Hope this help in solving the problem....

My LG 42PC3DC has ghosting

The ghosting is a sign of slight image retention and the reddish hue is over diffusion. This can normally be fixed by a voltage adjustment on the power supply.
Unplug the set and take the back off
Plug the set back in and turn the set on
With a digital voltage meter find the test point on the power supply that says VS. If you cannot find it, you can still measure it at the connector. It will say VS in a few different places.
Compare that voltage with the voltage that is on the sticker that is on the panel. If it does not match
Take a small screw driver and find the pod that says vs adjust and adjust the voltage to what the sticker says. If it already matches, then raise or lower it about 10 volts or until the picture starts clearing up. If it does not clear up either direction, then you will need to replace your logic board, which is the small board near the middle of the panel. Worst case scenario is that your panel if faulty, which would not be cost effective to replace.

Has sound , but picture

Hi,

First, connect the TV to a DVD player and observe if problem will still be there. If problem persists, then it mean the fault is from your TV's LCD inverter. Sometimes, a defective video cord can cause this type of problem, this is why I asked you to connect the TV to a DVD player.....

Your TV has a long board that is called LCD inverter board. This board is defective or dying.

This long LCD inverter board's only job is to provide the TV LCD screen panel to have a back-light to the LCD screen panel to produced a picture.

Try websites like shopjimmy.com, ebay.com to buy a refurbish long LCD inverter board for the replacement.

If you are not a TV expert, please take the TV to a repairman for the LCD inverter replacement. This is not expensive to fix...

Note that TV store current, so wait for some minutes before attempting to open the TV's back cover.

Regards.
