Amana freezer forms ice on the bottom. We have

When you see that ice forms on the bottom of your freezer it is most likely means that the drain hose of the fridge is blocked. You will need to take the panel inside the freezer off, clear all the ice and pour hot water into the drain hole until you hear the water coming out at the beck where the compressor is located. The next step would be running a 1/4" hose thru that hole.Good luck.www.QuickFixAppliances.ca

Every minute or two we hear a clicking sound and a motor turns on for a few seconds then shuts down. I fear this is a prelude to major problems.

It sounds like your compressor is short cycling and yes that is probably a prelude to major problems. A number of things can cause this. Check to make sure your condenser is clean (it's the heat exchanger in the back) and if there is a fan for that unit make sure that is turning when the "motor" you are hearing comes on. If that heat exchanger is covered in dust you can easily solve your problem. If the fan has died, you might have the knowledge to do it. If those look ok it's probably something with the refrigeration cycle and you'll probably need an expert to figure it out in person.

Red dial On A Amana bx21

If the fans are not coming on that would tell me the defrost timer=> R0131577 Defrost Timer is worn out and or stuck in defrost. Turn that red dial clockwise slowly until you hear compressor and fan restart.. If this solves turning on the refrigerator then you will need to replace the timer with the red dial because the clock inside is stuck and will contine to cause problems until replaced. Let me know if you have questions, Thanks Sea Breeze7_8_2012_6_48_53_pm.jpgR0131577 Defrost Timer

Part of your message was missing but I do see that you did not mention the defrost thermostat=> 12001937 Defrost ThermostatChec for any loose wire or burned electrical connections and remember that the defrost thermostat is designed to be on while below freezing temperatures and once the temperaytures reach 50 degrees F the contacts in the defrost thermostat open to prevent the freezer from getting stuck in the defrost cycle for too long and also is a safety feature. Test the defrost thermostat with a OHM Meter while freezing.. Ask if you need I will be here to answer any questions you may have, rate if helpful and please ask if you need more answers, Thanks John Tripp/ AKA Sea Breeze

Water leaking into ice cube bin and freezing.

Hello,

The reason all the ice freezes together and you see icecicles forming from the icemaker,is going to caused by the water inlet valve on the back of the refrig.is not fully closing but instead it's seeping water through it and dripping into the ice storage bucket. To stop that from happening the water inlet valve would need to be replaced.

On refrigerators that have a built in water filter, alot of times their will be 2 water valves and the one that is bad causing water to seep through it will be the one called the SECONDARY valve.

If the model number listed in your question is correct the part number for the needed water valve is 12002193 it could be purchased at your local appliance partstore or online at;

Refrigerator portion (upper) continues to

Hello there,

The problem with the refrigerator is that the thermostat regulator is bad. Hereby resulting in lack of control on the refrigerator.

First check the control switches board to see if it still working, then you try to check the thermostat regulator. Those are the two major causes for such problem.

Once the two components are checked, the problem would be easily detected and what to replace will be revealed.

Hope this information washelpful.

Toshiba Refrigerator GR-H37ST not cool

The thermostat for the fridge is operated using a spring mechanism and it is different from the thermostat for the freezer. To fix this, open the 2 screws covering the thermostat for the fridge and pull everything out. You can see a block of Styrofoam. Pull it out carefully and you can see there is a small hole with a white thin plastic covering inside it. That is the thermostat. It may be stuck, so I recommend you to put something inside it so that the plastic covering won't block the square hole. Put everything back together, and the problem is fixed. Except that you can't control the temperature for the fridge anymore.
