LG 42PC3DV 42 in. Plasma EDTV - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
I have a LG Plasma
the remote control board and the button control board interlink on the main av board, you could be lucky and the connections just need pulling out of the board and re setting them back in place, or the main av board might have a problem with its processor chip. but would try the reseating the cables.
TV shut off and won't turn back on??
Sounds like my Samsung. Searched web and said to check the capacitor (good thing there was only one capacitor) rated at 100 uf at 450 volts. Measured at the capacitor - has only 380 volts. Have a 150 uf and 220 uf at 400 volts. (Samsung's capacitor was 450 v.) Worrisome, yes. Tried all combination, but only 150 uf plus the 220 uf would work. Measured 390 volts.
When the tv is first turned on it flashes then the color is strange then perfect picture
These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power led, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. Viewing it in "
Mosaic" will make surf easy.

Remote control does not work for my plasma tv
I also had this same problem. Both the original remote and my universal remote failed to give any response on the TV. Normally the green light flashes when it receives a command from the remote. Called LG Support and they made me an appointment with a local repair company for 3 days later. This seemed pretty quick compared to other companies repair times I'd read about. However next day the repair company called to say it would be 5 more days before they could get a Tech to my location (downtown ATL). 8 days was a long time to wait but once tech arrived he diagnosed it to a bad board and simply went to his truck and swapped it out with mine under factory warranty. Everything has been fine since.
I have a darks color with it flashing all the time.
Hopefully you have got some bad capiciators, if it isn't that then I can't tell much more without having it on the bench. It also could be on your power board. If a voltage is missing or weak that could cause it to have lines in it. That would usualy cause the diagnostic circuits to shut down however. With a Plazma screen things are different than that of a LCD or LED in that you have extra circuirty to power and excite the Plasma of the module. Try to find a old man like me that's not in it for a living and get him to look at it. If you would like I can do some research on that particular and see if I can find anything more concrete. Feel free to contact me if I can be of further assistance.Gillight
I have sound but no picture
if you still have the red stand by light then you power supply is ok, next you need to remove the back and look for a blown fuse on your y-sus board that will be found on your left,.

My 42PC3D television turns itself
Hello
The power supply switching regulator section of your TV has some loose soderings with it. There will be no need for replacement of any of the components of this board. This board can be located very easly, by tracking the mains power cable goes into to it after the main ON/Off switch.
Normally, most of the components in this board will heat up while working. Repeated heating and cooling will make solder terminal points also get heated and cool repeatedly, will expand and contract peridically. This process will make the solder terminals to get loose contacted. The loose contacts of these type can't be detected by normal sight, as they will be very microscopical in nature. The only thing we do in service field is, to just resolder most of the suspected loose solder points, by applying a little more solder, whout making any solder bridge shrort in between adjecent solder terminals.
You alos just do this work. Be cacious to not make any solder bridge short, as I described earlier. Because this is the poer regulator board, which will have high voltages and even a short in any point will make it destroyed. You must have a very high quality DC soldering Iron, a stady hand, and a concept of soldering. Judt follo up. You can rectify this problem.
If you want anymore assistance from me, feel free to get me by FixYa. OK
Take care. Plug out the set from wall AC mains socket; before take out the power regulator board out for repair. OK.
I have a LG 42pc3dv
Check the fuse on the Z-sustain module. The module all the way to the right (looking from the back) If blown (and before the set went out there was a loud pop) you need to change the IC on the Z-sustain part number STK 795-820 or 821 and the fuse. If you don't want to bother unsoldering and soldering back this part and you know the fuse is blown then replace the Z-sustain module. Do a google, ebay, or shopjimmy.com search with the model number for price and availibility.
Hi, my TV picture just
Since the Y-sus is out, you should also check the x-sus for any visible faults. If so many caps are bad on the power board, you will have to replace it as there is a good chance that they have damaged some other circuits with the overload they exert on the voltage lines(5V, 9V etc.,).
My LG plasma 42pc3DV-UD just turns off while we're
The tv power supply board have dying parts call the capacitors. These capacitors are dying and have leaking gases. These dying capacitors are alway bulges up on it tops or puffing up on it tops. The power supply board the board that the board, where the power a/c cord plug into it.U have tools like a soldering iron, desoldering pump or desoldering braids, solders?U can do basic soldering?U have basic understanding of electronic?Replaced these dying and leaking gases capacitors, that are bulging up on it tops or puffing up on it tops. This sporadic turn off and on will stop.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

My remote will not turn tv on or off nor will it
I had the same problem with my LG 42PC3. With e few remotes around all programmed to control the TV all of a sudden stopped working. It was highly unlikely that all 3 of the remotes were defective or with bad batteries since the other components like stereo and Sat box would work with the same remotes. I assumed the problem lied with the receiver on the TV. It turned out to be the TV but not the receiver itself. Let me explain, there is a "REMOTE IN" plug behind the TV to connect an external wired remote (why, I have no idea). I was explained that when you plug in an external wired remote, it deactives the IR sensor. But the problem was that I didn't have an external remote plugged in there. What happens is that some corrosion builds up in the connector behind the TV which causes the circuit to close and deactives the IR receiver, all that is required is to unplug the TV from power source, squirt some WD-40 (only a little) into the connector hole behind the TV and use any 3.5mm plug like a headphone jack and plug-unplug a dozen times to loosen any build-up in the plug which I did and now the TV receives the signals from the IR remote. Cool, how simple is that. I hope this helps anyone out there with the same problem.
I just bought a 42 inch LG Plasma flat screen at
