The brightness menu screen is stuck on!
Please try to turn the monitor off. Hold down the Menu button while the monitor is turned off, then press the Power button again to turn the monitor back on. This should unlock your OSD menu from your screen. regards

Have samsung syncmaster 720n monitor. adjustment
Trying the hold down power button for count of ten (did count of twenty just to make sure) didn't work. Menu came back up. Will try unplugging control chip next (this fix doesn't make sense to me ) will see if monitor will work without chip>

Syncmaster 720n
OK, I've figured it out! There's something wrong with the control chip, so if you don't have it under warranty, here's what you can do:
1. Turn off the monitor
2. Unscrew the face of the monitor
3. Remove the bottom part of the face from the backside, so you can see the chip
(the control chip is located on the face of the monitor, under the buttons)
4. You will see a small white connector about 5mm wide, UNPLUGG it
5. Put the small cable that you've unconnected under the front, so you can close the monitor back
6. Close the monitor and plug it back in
That's it. You won't be able to change your settings (they autoadjust anyway), but you won't have to throw the monitor away!
Peace.

My monitor is turn off
That means your video card and/or your monitor does not support that resolution. Check what the maximum resolution your monitor can handle. You can find that out by asking your monitor's manufacturer or looking up the model of your monitor online. If you're sure that the monitor can handle that resolution but its not working, try updating or reinstalling your video card driver.
