You need to go to TV channel scanning screen menu and select 'CABLE' and rescan it.

look for the SOURCE button

Does the TV function? I do not think so. This indicates that the power is reaching the power supply unit and thats all. It is not going any further. Your PSU seems to be defective. Take it to the Akai Service Center and have it replaced/rectified. Not a major defect.

See black light at the back.
If no back light, problem most likely come from power supply.
If has back light, need tech to check and figure out exact problem.

The failure with your LCD might be due to defective capacitors in the power supply. These parts become defective due to excessive heat and fail prematurely If you are able to DIY, you can check the picture to see how defective capacitors look like.

hello. I have a couple of recommendations for you. First, you may be able to find another TV on craigs list, or a local ad. If that fails, you could go to a site in the states that carries many Akai parts called www.shopjimmy.com either way, good luck with it.

Hi,
Please unplug/ replug connectors on power supply board and back light inverter boards at sides of TV.
LCD Controller board is also needs your attention, replug its connectors (be careful while handling flexible wires coming from LCD Panel) This board is located at top center of lcd panel rear side.
And if problem still unsolved, I would replace Back Light Master Inverter board because TV has 2 boards, one is master and second is Slave. Both are available in Shop Jimmy. Please click above links to have price info.

To all akai LCT2715owner power problem?check powersupply and mainboard. do u see any bulging capacitors that is 1000uF and 470uF? yes? replace all!

i have same tv lct2715 my customer gave to me.
open back cover you will see many many bulging capacitors that is 1000uF and 470uF at powersupply and mainboard . replace all!

Capacitors come in all shapes and sizes from microscopic to as large as a small bottle. It depends on its use. It must be replaced with an exact match. Some common ones look like batteries with leads on each end or both on one end. They can hold a charge for weeks or longer. I removed one from a defective camera flash just for fun and was given a sharp jolt for my trouble. If you suspect a bad one have the device repaired by a professional. Good Luck

I very highly doubt that is merely a power supply problem,I would suspect that it is a small signal board (aka scaler board) or at the very least,have the inverter boards checked

Most likely a power supply problem.

If the TV fails to power ON, in about 90% of the time is due to a power supply failure. If you intend to DIY, I would suggest to visually inspect the capacitors in the power supply. Replacing them should correct the failure with the TV.

You most likely have low voltage power trouble. 5v line. This line feed the microprocessor. The power supply must be repaired or replaced.

Akai is poor brand for after sale service and parts are really hard to get.

In your TV symptom of no-blue color shows problem with LCD controller board and current problem of blinking yellow light shows some thing wrong with back light inverter board.

The inverter board is damaged at this point. you will need to replace this failed board in order to restore normal functions.

Try universal remotes from radio shack, MCM electronics, box stores, etc. Range from under $10 to $150 depending on bells & whistles.
