To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. Your power supply is likely faulty.

Check the power board, capacitors seem to be possibly faulty on this model. TV will need to be taken apart.

I am working on the same power supply right now, my has a bunch of bad caps that I already replaced but I did not try to turn it on yet becuase I see that RS1 and RS8 are missing, some one had try to fix this power supply. Your problem sound like the logic board problem, I can tell you what you should have if I can find out if these two resistors were left out from the factory or some had removed them. I fixed the same power supply for the N2652 but I did not take the pictures of the board, I wish I did.

if you have digital or analog tester,try to read the output voltage of the power supply

The main power regulator board [SMPS board] has damaged. It should be replaced. Normally there is no repair to these boards. Only card base replacement is done. Check this to know more.

I had the same problem. resolved it by the following......
1. Press and hold the TV button until the red LED turns on and stays on.
2. enter 00000, the red LED will flash and turn off
3. test remote
This procedure should put the remote settings in default for TV.

if all goes well remote should operate the TV

Okay, do this.

On the top of the t.v. itself, hold down the Volume+ (up) and the Menu button down at the same time. This will turn off the "power lock." This is also how you turn on the "power lock." (Though I can't think of a reason anyone would ever want to do this.)

Try holding the VOL + and VOL - buttons on the TV (not on the remote) down together. You should see a "unlocking buttons" message on screen. This might work. However, I tried it repeatedly, as told to by the Viewsonic "service" rep, and it didn't work for me. Viewsonic is ****, and so is its "service"!

No, most of them you will have to program it to work with other model of Viewsonic TV.

Or www.digikey.com, just make sure to use caps with low ESR, 105c, high ripple current and long life rating such as PANASONIC FM or FC series.

I can't find a Viewsonic N3235W3M. However the N3235W and the N3235W-M use the RC00136P remote. I too had the same problem. please replace the power supply board. Buy it on ebay it will be all set. Do not forgot to give power supply through voltage stabilizer next time.
