Sylvania 6620LG 20 in. EDTV-Ready LCD Television Questions & Answers
I've got my Dish cable to show on my Sylvania SDTV
your ps3 is probably sat to HDMI or SCART, to change this: turn off your ps3 and hold the powerbutton when your turning it on. this will cause the ps3 to change between HDMI and scart, thats probably why it wont find a source.
Will not turn on hit by lightning
It got in one of two ways, either via the power cord (yes) or via the antenna feed.If via the cord the problem may be confined to the power supply and be anything from a fuse to a trashed power board===cooked to well done.If it came in via the antenna/cable feed line that can be fatal---it can destroy tuner, microprocessor which means set will never turn on etc.Have the set looked at and if a 20 inch as indicated here if not the fuse buy a new set.
I have a sylvania 20'' edtv no tuner or picture from cable
Does the set have any audio/video jacks on the back? Have you tried hooking to those? If the tuner is bad cable can be hooked via a box or even using a old vcr to the rear jacks===switching to that input and bypass the tv tuner. It will also tell you if problem is with the tuner.Let me know if you have questions.
Can you use this model
FIRST OFF!!...WHAT YOU HAVE TO LOOK FOR ON A TV TO PLUG INTO YOUR CPTR. IS; A BLUE 9 PIN PLUG IN THE BACK OF THE TV THAT READS: PC INPUT,OR THE OTHER MOST USUAL CHOICE IT'S A TV WITH A JACK THAT IS KNOWN AS:HDMII(HIGH DEFINITION MEDIA INTERFACE)FOR WHICH YOU'LL PROBABLY NEED AN ADAPTER BUT,IS BY FAR,THE BEST WAY OF DOING IT...HOPE THAT THIS REALLY HELPS YOU...GOOD LUCK!!
Sylvania 6620lg 20" tv
By split screen you mean that only half works or is a different color the problem is not the main board but a problem with the lcd itself. It is called cof or chip on film , it is a problem that cannot be fixed.
Sudden Power Loss
My conclusion: A modern TV breaking down within such a short span of time indicates one thing: It is an inferior product. I have made a mental note of the Sylvania product in order to not ever buy that brand again. If I am asked, I will be glad to share my experience with that name brand.
HDTV
some shows are only brodcast in one format if not try the pic. size or aspect yu may have to go in to the menu browse through there for picture preferences
NO Color
In the past the main board is usually the problem but you might go to Phillips website and look for technical support there may be some software upgrade you coud install very easily with a thumb drive. Main boards could range from 150 to 300+ go to shopjimmy.com they may have it
SYLVANIA 6620LG TV - DTV??
The ;quick answer is YES, you will need a converter box to receive digital broadcasts. This set has only an analog tuner built-in. That is why it is HDTV "ready" (ready for you to add a tuner).
As for HDTV vs EDTV it is a matter of resolution. Your set is capable of EDTV resolution, which is better than SDTV (standard definition TV) but not quite as good as HDTV. With a digital tuner you will be able to view all digital programming, even HD, and it will look excellent, though not quite as sharp as a set with higher definition.
DTV????????????????????????
From the side of the carton in which it came:
CONSUMER ALERT: This television receiver has only an analog broadcast tuner and will require a converter box after February 17, 2009 to receive over-the-air broadcasts with an antenna because of the U.S.'s transition to digital broadcasting. Analog-only TVs should continue to work as before with cable and satellite TV services, gaming consoles, VCRs, DVD players, and similar products. For more information, call the Federal Communications Commission at 1-888-225-5322 (TTY: 1-888-835-5322), or visit the commission’s digital-television Web site at:
www.dtv.gov.
The only other thing I could add to this, is that the Post Office in 2009 will get the task of handing out $40.00 coupons to to anyone wishing to purchase a converter.
