So I rang the shop and Bill the guy who works there says you need to turn the volume up. So I did and we Skyped for like 8 hours but Manuel got a pain in his belly and had to go. From what I can find on your error number 040000058D it is that your hard drive is physically damaged...It will probably have to be replaced and then run the recovery tool and it should install normally.

I suggest try to isolate the problem of the machine. Try loading to BIOS and see if the white stripe on the monitor exist, If happens that it have the white stripe it means its already a hardware, it could be a problem with the LCD or the cable connector from the LCD to the Motherboard.

Welcome to Fixya. Basically to check if the drive is still working you can go to BIOS and check if the CDROM is detected then if not most likely it is faulty and you need to replace it.

A vertical white stripe means a portion of the lcd has failed...it will continue to get worse as time progresses. The ONLY way to fix it is to swap the lcd out with a working one. It isn't a loose connection, etc.
