i want to format my o2 xda orbit , just because i am unable to use internet via wifi , previously it was working fine, i am unable to receive or send any text message don't know why , whenever i receive a message from any one it only displays "the content of this message cannot be displayed" , i am unable to change my clock function , cannot access alarm , it happens when last night my battery was low so my mobile gets shut down , as i turned it up the alarm rings but on the main menu reminder is coming and i am unable to exit it. please help me out from these problems. Get that from service provider...First Check Your mobile whether that Option enabled or not.

hard reset your pda...this will remove the password from your pda but you will loose your data also...

To perform a hard reset
1.Press and hold the Left SOFT KEY and the Right SOFT KEY, and at the same time, use the stylus to press the RESET button at the bottom center part of your device.

2.Release the stylus, but continue pressing the two soft key buttons. Release them only when you see the following message on your device screen: "Press SEND to restore factory default, press END to quit."

3.Press on your device.


On my XDA the reset button is located on the left bottom side of the XDA.

This is due to some software complaint,this can be easily done by resetting your mobile.

I believe the problem is from your battery. The battery cell is very weak such that it cannot power up the Orbit. Once a battery gets flat to such extent, even a charger will not be able to power such battery.

Though you replaced the battery, there is every possibility that the battery you replaced is also not charged.

I don't believe there is anything wrong with your Xda Orbit. There is no way the battery will get flat and all of a sudden, the phone will develop fault, no, I don't want to believe that.

What you need to do is to power the battery up is by using a desktop charger to charge the battery. The desktop charger will wake the battery cell, and thereafter, you can use your charger to continue the charge with your Orbit.

Lastly, let your concentration be on the battery, because that's where the fault is coming from. You can look for someone (friend) that uses the same Orbit and test your battery and also test the person's battery with your Orbit.

Its not a big problem the button through which you switch on or off has got dry soldering. If you know how to desolder and solder you can do it yourself. If not then take it to a mechanic he will fix it for 1$

try to change the firmware to an updated version ....

when the screen goes black, ''restarted'' - do you restart the phone or does the xda restart automaticly?

thinkin whether its a battery/power issue..

at the moment im currently finding a soloution for this on my own xda orbit. im going to start by dismantling the phone to see if there is a loose connection etc..
also gona try hard reset if it still persists but if it dont work i think its an issue with the battery which id get off ebay, they cost about £5 but ill try these first before i spend money, ill be doing these tonight so ill let you know what happens tomorow.

copy music file you want to use and go into you phone file explorer..
go to windows/rings

with mine i can use them via my documents but this should work..

try opening it up and ensure the connection from the screen and the motherboard is secure.
sometimes it is possable for them to come loose.
could also be software, so try hard reset first.
