there is a disk that is attached to your coil, it controls the defrost timer in your fridge. that might be a problem or you might need a new defrost timer. hope this helps put you on the right track

There is a solenoid in the back where the water line tie in. If the solenoid is bad, no water will get to either. As someone is trying to dispense water, hold a metal object (like a screwdriver) to the top of the round part of the solenoid. If there is some magnetic resistance, then the solenoid is good. If not, replace it.

This sounds like your ice may be melting and freezing around the chute. You may need to replace that rubber gasket on the chute. Otherwise, if you use a lot of crushed ice, that will build up badly on the chute and you can manually clean that off. I hope this helps you!

Yes you can DIY. Take a butter knife and CAREFULLY pry the broken switch from the cabinet. Be careful not to scratch the plastic liner around the switch.
Remove the 2 wires, place them on the new switch and POP the new switch in place.
If this is a half-moon switch make sure it is installed in the correct direction.

I believe you solved your own prob.. definitly sounds like the fan motor stopped.

Sounds like the water may be off to your unit or the solenoid is not opening to feed the water to the ice maker.

Amana adaptive defrost:

Press refrigerator light switch five times in six seconds to initiate defrost cycle. Pressing five more times within six seconds will cancel defrost and go straight into the run mode. Similar operation on both bottom mount and SxS refrigerators. After the defrost terminator/thermostat opens, six minutes of dwell time occurs before the compressor and condenser fan motor will operate. After defrost terminator/thermostat open, 10 minutes of dwell time occurs before the evaporator fan motor will operate.

a. Remove bypass cartridge from water filter head in rear
right corner of refrigerator section. Twist cartridge
counterclockwise 1/4 turn and pull down to remove.
Save bypass for use at a later date.
