FEE error code on nikon d80
To solve this all you need to do is turn the lens' aperture ring (the one nearest the camera body) to the smallest number (probably 22 or 32).

Error maeesge and no auto focus
What message? if an FEE, perhaps you forgot to put the Diafragm marking to the greatest figure (22 or so) and forgot to put the lock on.
Next time, I think it could be very helpful you tell what error you see. Nobody needs to guess what you see.

I have copied and pasted someone elses problem,
Lock the aperture ring at its smallest opening (in this case, F22). Change the aperture setting by turning the subcommand dial (the one in front, unless you changed it in the setup menu).
Of course, you can only change the aperture directly in Manual and Aperture-Priority modes.

Delayed Shutter, No Flash, and Menu Issues
Pls check your camera settings. Your shutter may be set to 10" (meaning 10 seconds). That is probably also why your pop up flash does not go up... because it feels that it will already get over-exposed pics.
To check if it is not a hardware problem, change your settings to Auto and try to shoot in a dark room.

File name/numbers are out of order when transferred to computer
Sometimes the number DSC is on your images and then if you use soft ware, it can change the image number . So get a soft ware you can rename the images. Also be sure the camera is set in the custom to count continously. If any more questions Please contact Berrie Smith Camera Repair

Autofocus not working
Have you tried to see if you camera is running the latest firmware? If its not update it.
Nikon Teleconverter
You could probably use either a 1.4 x or a 2 x, depending on how much you wanted to increase the focal length of your lens. A 1.4 x would give you a range of 98-420, a 2 x would give you a range of 140-600.
Having said that, teleconverters are not usually recommended for use with zoom lenses, and you would lose one stop with the 1.4 x, two stops with the 2 x, thus necessitating longer exposures. Also, with the increase in focal length comes an increased probability of camera shake being more apparent, due to the increased magnification. In your position, I would attempt to get closer to the subject, using a teleconverter as a last resort if this is not possible.
