when I first installed the printer software it worked fine when I disconnected the usb fromt he laptop and then reconnected it windows prompted me to install again I cancelled this step as the software ws already installed, but it kept prompting me to install. I did reinstall because I was getting error messages that the software was not fully installed. by this time there are two printers installed but when I try the print from either one it says failure to communicate with the printer. It will scan but not print. I has to uninstall all the printer software and reinstall. I can't keep installing the software everytime I connect the usb cable up is there anything i can do?
Ok Guys! I found the solution to the nasty "Problem communicating with the printer" AT LAAAST !
I have a lexmark 2480 and I recently upgraded to windows 7 ( I had the same problem with Vista earlier as well) so this problem has nothing to do with your operating system. The mistake I was making was that I first connected the cable and then began installing the setup.exe file. I never got the printer to work after that though strangely the scanner seems to work. I even enabled bidirectional port but it was no help. I tried unchecking the check box that said "save power...." in the usb port device I accessed using the device manger. No. Nothing works.
Finally I found the answer. I uninstalled lemxark. I disabled the firewall. Then Disconnected the cable. Guys this is important you have to disconnect the cable and then only hit setup.exe. You must connect the cable only when the setup asks you to. And it works. I used the setup in my CD which I got when I bought the printer. Despite the fact that my OS is windows 7, 64 bit all works fine!
take care, hope this helps people like me who had to tear my hair apart for 3 hours+.

I bought a lexmark x1270 and tried to install it in my windows vista and it won't work. I downloaded the vista version from the Lexmark web page and it doesn't work. The computer always tells me windows failed. A window opens and says that windows failed and it shuts down the program to install the printer before all the installation is complete.
Important - Do not reconnect the USB cable until the install software prompts the question of how the printer is connected
Important - Delete old installs
Attention Windows Vista Users
If you have installed your printer on your PC using an original Lexmark Driver CD that came with your product and you are experiencing problems when printing, you may have installed the Windows XP driver.
Follow these steps to resolve:
· Disconnect your USB cable from your printer.
· Uninstall all Lexmark printer drivers on your PC. (For more information Click Here)
· Download the correct Vista driver for your model. (Click Here)
· Install the driver on your PC. (Click Here)
If you are facing issues, scanning using your All in One Center, Here is an alternative.
Download lexmark driver http://downloads.lexmark.com/cgi-perl/downloads.cgi?ccs=229:1:0:0:0:0 note (Please allow pop-ups in your browser for this website)

Recently installed the all-in-one, and the printer works perfectly, but when I try to scan or copy I have an "AOIC.exe as encountered an error" message and the PC freezes. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, changing my AVG firewall settings, all with the same result. I am using Windows XP.
The only way i can get my Lexmark X1270 to scan is to use the Windows Vista "Windows Photo gallery" to scan :
Start > All Programs > Windows photo Gallery > File > Import from Camera or scanner > select the scanner > save scanned file to your computer
This is the only way I have been able to use the scanner on my lexmark X1270,hope it works for you too.Be lucky.

Hi, I have a lexmark x1270 printer. It has been printing fine until this morning when there was a paper jam. I took the paper out, which was not jammed much at all, and the computer instructed me to shut off the printer and re-send my print job. I did all this and it does not work. The power button is blinking continuously and nothing is happening...help!
I had the same issue with my Lexmark X1290, I solved it by opening up the device, so the ink cartridges should pop, they didn't so I pressed the power button to switch it off, and then switched it back on (with the device open!) and all the paper flowed out, the flashing stopped and it could print again. Good Luck!

can you help me to install my lexmark x1270 without a cd
The only way to setup the printer without the proper drivers would be to use windows add new printer. However windows does not have lexmark x1270 listed. You can dlownload the software from lexmark & install the software / drivers without using the cd.
http://downloads.lexmark.com/cgi-perl/downloads.cgi?ccs=229:1:0:537:0:0
You need to choose your version of windows to continue.
This next site will show you how to connect your x1270.

Also listed is the user's guide manual.
Hope this can help you.

I bought lexmark x1200 all in one some time ago, it was working fine, but now i bought new computer with vista basic and i cant get it to work. The software is not the same as it was, i only have a problem solution center but not the part where you can print or scan or copy. I compared it with the old computer and it looks like its missing two parts from the software. I uninstalled it and did it again but it did the same thing. Please help.

this driver lxczpsw.exe for my printer is missing. and i can't seem to get it anywhere on the net.
previously, the printer was running on my Windows XP smoothly before i reformatted it (into Windows XP Professional...similar right?). One day, i plugged in the USB into my laptop; forgetting that i havent installed it with the CD. so there was a pop up saying that 'your hardware might have a problem running properly'.
i tried rebooting, reinstalling it again. n nothing works. =( the driver lxczpsw.exe is missing.
i'm wondering if reformatting my laptop once again would make my printer work. or should i try using this cjb1200EN.exe driver? is it compatible?
