Hitachi 42HDS69 42 in. Plasma Television - Page 2 Questions & Answers
Remote control no longer working
all universal remote manufactures provide you with a setup guide to use their remote control. follow the instructions carefully and you'll be sitting pretty.
Why do I get a "No Sync. Signal" note when I attempt to use my DVD player on Input 2?
Depending on the TV model, there were some where the IR (Infrared) board inside the TV failed. It is not the remote that failed. You can test the remote by trying it at a Best Buy store on some of their TV's. If you are somewhat handy, you can easily remove the IR board and send it into a repair service that I located on E-Bay. There was repair service in Indiana and one in California. I sent it to the California and it came back in less than 1 week. I installed it and the TV works fine now.
Hitachi ultravision is hot, to the touch, Is there concern?
I've owned a 42HDX99 since 2007, It's always been warm/hot. Still works/looks Awesome. Plasmas do generally run hotter than
LCD/LED's. Also have a 58" Samsung Plasma ( which I've had to repair ) and a 2009 Toshiba 1080P LCD ( still works great )

It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.
Dvd wont work.
First, is the DVD player output (Video out, audio out) connected to the TV input?
Have you used the Yellow cable from DVD video out to the TV video in? Mixing the audio and video cables will result in no signal.
Have you selected the proper input with your TV remote control. Most plasmas accept a variety of input signals; you must select the right one.
I deal with a number of these issues. Usually the connections are made improperly or the correct input source is not selected with the TV remote.
Put a DVD in the player and press play. Be sure you have made the proper connection from DVD player video/audio out into an auxiliary or video input on the TV. These could be labeled Line 1 or Line 2. With the DVD playing, run through the input options on your remote control. The button might be marked source, video or input. The screen should display your choices i.e. video 1, video 2, etc. When you see your DVD program, you've got the right combination.
