Panasonic TH-50PX75U Plasma HDTV - Page 4 Questions & Answers
My Panasonic 50" plasma began to have breaks in
Plasma sets require high voltage to operate and this is often produced on a separate board which may use input voltage from the main power supply.
Since you have sound, the main supply seems to be working.
The fact that it will recover if turned off for a while points to the failure of a cheap (sometimes too cheap) part called an electrolytic capacitor.
One of their common failure modes is a loss of capacitance and an increase in internal losses as they are warmed. In some circuits, these are in 'feedback' paths and once the value falls too far, the supply refuses to continue running and with further decay, will lose enough of its effective capacitance so the circuit won't even start to operate.
If you feel like experimenting, please post back via 'Comment' and I will supply you with instructions on one method of trying to locate the failing part.
If you are not adventurous, call a Panasonic service center near you and ask if they have an exchange or repair program for the high voltage supply; if they tell you there is only a single supply (both combined) and it is only available as a new unit, sit down before asking for the cost.
These aren't your father's TVs and are generally a whole lot less reliable than the standard sets of 15-20 years ago.

That usually indicates the panel is going bad. Repair is ususally pretty steap. 90% of what you paid for the tv.

My panasonic model #TH-50PX75U wont
Unplug the power cord. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds, repeat. Plug it back in and try to turn it on.
If this doesn't work, it would be time to call in a repair tech. Is the TV still under warranty? Extended warranty?

My tv dont start blinkin
12 Blinks is an audio error. More than likely you have a bad A Board. If you have some electronics experience you can troubleshoot the issue fairly easy.
Take the back off of the set
Unplug connectors A5, A6 and A7 on the power supply and plug in the set.
Check to see if set turns on with a white screen.
If it does, unplug the set and reconnect A5, A6 and A7 and then plug the set back in.
If the set will turn on and stay on, you probably had a shorted speaker wire or
If the set shuts down and starts blinking 12 times again, then you have a defective A board that will need to be replaced.

While watching, screen went black.
If you have a seperate cable box (not using the cable card in the TV) and you are seeing your cable listings (the Guide on the TV) there is nothing wrong with the Television. it sounds like the cable box is not decoding the video anymore, or you are having a cable outage. I would call your cable provider

Is it possible to change
They should be fuse(s) in the power board and or the Y Board.
When the fuse goes bad it means other component(s) are bad which made the fuse to go bad.
You can try but, just be very carefull use only the same fuse.
My advise is to call a repairman.
This information is for someone that knows electronic.
1000s of volts inside the TV that can kill. Even if you unplug the TV the high voltage can be stored inside the TV for days.
Best of luck.

Usually seven blinks indicates a Y sustain problem. Its either the Y sustain pcb and/or the buffer boards. I would highly recommend calling an authorized service center for this if you don't know what you are doing.
