There is no picture no menu nothing will come on picture wise

Use the source button to ensure that source is not set to the wrong input. Try unplugging power cord for ten minutes, to ensure it is not a setting problem. Check all the video cables at the back of TV. Check Light /Color settings. If problem persist and does not depend on external receiver or settings, then it is likely an internal fault. If it has sound but no picture then one of the following parts is faulty, and must be tested and replaced: The inverter is the high voltage board that provides variable power to the backlight lamp. This is the most common. When inverter is faulty you can get no picture, or a very dim picture that can only be seen by pointing a torch light with a 45 degree angle on the LCD surface from very near distance. The inverter must be tested by reading voltages with a multimeter. The LCD ribbon cable/LCD display and connectors. This is quite uncommon, but happens. If the TV had been hit or moved the LCD cable may have slipped out, or the LCD connector may be damaged. Input/Output Signal boards. This are the boards where you connect the video and audio cables, if a signal board is defective, then you may get no picture on particular inputs located on faulty board. If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual. If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.

Where can i obtain a lamp for the hp plasma tv

Sorry, your plasma does not take a lamp.

"Plasma flat screen technology consists of hundreds of thousands of individual pixel cells, which allow electric pulses (stemming from electrodes) to excite rare natural gases-usually xenon and neon-causing them to glow and produce light. This light illuminates the proper balance of red, green, or blue phosphors contained in each cell to display the proper color sequence from the light. Each pixel cell is essentially an individual microscopic florescent light bulb, receiving instruction from software contained on the rear electrostatic silicon board. Look very closely at a plasma TV and you can actually see the individual pixel cell coloration of red, green, and blue bars. You can also see the black ribs which separate each."

Purple screen plasma tv

Sounds pretty. Try resetting it to factory defaults, if that doesn't work, it could be the main controler board.

We have lost the picture on our 42 inch hp plasma

If it is not a loose connection (internally), it may be most probably related to your picture tube. Check it out and if found faulty get it replaced. If your are in any warranty period (I don't think so since it is 3-5 years old), don't do anything and just inform them, or else you will loose your warranty security.

Some troubleshooting help please.

The part that caused the fuse to blow is the hybrid that is mounted underneath the heatsink on the YSUS and ZSUS boards. The part used on these boards might be YPPD-J017C or YPPD-J018C, in about 90% of the time, replacing these hybrids fixes the plasmas with no video but good audio. Since VS and GND is shorted, that means that the hybrid has shorted internally. Most service techs would rather replace the entire YSUS or ZSUS boards since the hybrids are very difficult to remove.
Let me know if you require further assistance.

My HP HDTV trips my circuit brakers

1) Try with a different surge protector. The oine you're using could have a short-circuit
2) Try without a surge suppressor, at least for a day
3) Does the circuit breaker trip when something else starts running? Your microwave, fridge, dishwasher, etc.?

4) Check the user's manual of your TV, under SPECIFICATIONS. Check for "POWER REQUIREMENTS". If the power requirements listed is greater than 15 Amps or 1,700 Watts (assuming you live in the USA and your household is 110-120V), then the circuit breaker will almost always be triggered by the TV. Most circuit breakers inside a house are 15 Amps.

The only option you have is to replace the circuit breaker for one that has more Amps, but doing so on your own without having and electrican check if the wiring will hold the extra load is extremely unadvaisable. You may end up with an electric fire in your hands.

When TV is off and there is a power outage the TV

This TV has a Power Standby feature (pg. 40 of your manual) which allows you to more quickly turn ON the TV. When power is lost and then restored, your TV will display the HP logo screen while it boots the digital circuits. After it is finished, (unless it was previously turned on) it should appear to be OFF. This is normal operation. If you like, you can change this setting to LOW POWER. At this setting, each time you turn on the TV, you will see the HP Logo screen and picture/sound will appear after 20 seconds. Again, take a look at pg. 40 of your owners manual for more information.

Tv will not stay on.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. A plasma TV is a very hard working device. It is working harder than any TV that has been built before, and as a result it produces a lot of heat. 75% of technical problems in plasma TV's are caused by overheating problems. You’ll need to check the power supply board first for any swollen/bulged/leaky capacitors. As power supply board is the hardest working board in a plasma TV, it develops voltage to supply all components, high current + high voltage. All this is only recommended if you have electrical expertise & know how to solder/re-solder components as these units contain high voltages even when switched off. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

No video, no sound

Hi

It is working harder than any TV that has been built before, and as a result it produces a lot of heat. 75% of technical problems in plasma TV's are caused by overheating problems. X, Y sustain, buffer boards controls picture, fires the gas, and many others functions. When either of these boards goes bad common problems include negative image, no image, vertical or horizontal stripes on picture, turns on and than turns off, and many more. You’ll need to open the back off the TV and check for any swollen/bulged/leaky capacitors on these boards and replace whichever has gone bad. All this is only recommended if you have electrical expertise & know how to solder/re-solder components as these units contain high voltages even when switched off.

Hp 42 plasma tv cptoh 0602 specs all the time and wavy sd video

Mine has done this from day one, appears to be a resolution problem. All I do is go to a HD channel let it tune in and then go back the the SD channel and don't have to worry about it until next time the power has cycled.
