When this starts happening the panel is starting to go. Sometimes you can take digital pictures as directed by the manufacturer, and if they decide to provide good customer service then they will present you the opportunity to purchase a refurbished or new television directly from them at a greatly reduced price. This is normally something too expensive to repair as it can cost more than the cost of a new television.

Hi- My PL4260N stopped working after about three years, the audio worked but no video at all. The TV worked fine until one day...no more picture.
I found out that the YSUS and ZSUS boards in the TC fail alot...BUT you can get new or repaired ones off of EBAY...
First check for failed components (burned, loose, bulging, etc.) if nothing obvious is failed then check the fuses on the YSUS, ZSUS, and power supply boards...usually if a board has a blown fuse the board needs to be replaced...get the part number and search it in Google and eBay and you will find options for replace/repair.
Mine had a blown fuse on the YSUS board...I got it fixed for $75 through coppell TV (they are on Ebay)....
Now my TV works fine again!
Good luck.

My hp 42" PL4260N has sound but no picture. I

I had a similar problem with my 42 in Philips LCD HDTV.

Here was the problem. My Power Supply Board had several bad capacitors. I opened my TV (warranty was expired of course) and found four bulged capacitors. Many electronics companies were sold capacitors that failed in 2-5 years instead of 10-20. The capacitors fail prematurely due to a lack of preservatives. Unfortunately, they were installed in all sorts of devices and cause a wide range of failure problems.

Here are some options for you.

1. Have it fixed by a professional

2. Open your TV and find PSB. Check for faulty caps. If you find some (bulged or leaking) bad caps replace the entire board.

3. Remove and then replace individual faulty caps. This takes some soldering skill.

Caps are inexpensive and if you can take care of it yourself it will save you hundreds.

I have a tip/tutorial on this site that may also help. It gives step by step instructions for replacing caps on PSB #715t2432-2. If this is your board you are in luck. It's called: Fixing the Philips Turns/shuts off on its own problem.

Hope this helps and Good luck.

A few years ago the remote funtions stopped

It could be both. It could either be the remote sensor on your television going out and needing to be replaced. However it could be due to infra red interference. You can try a remote reset. Unplug the television. You will need the remote that goes to this television if you still have it. Remove the batteries from the remote. The television should remain unplugged. Leave the batteries out of the remote. Point it at the remote sensor. Hold down the power button on the remote for 30 seconds. Press and release each button on the remote control twice. Plug the television back in. Power it on from the on/off button located on the television. Then put the batteries back in the remote and try adjusting the volume. If this gets the remote that goes to the television to work then the other remotes should now also work with it.

MY HP Plasma TV is

Hi, there is no easy way to repair it, there are two main circuits in the TV that usually have to be replaced at the same time. Y and X sus boards, at around 300 dollars each and labor it should give you an idea on what route to take. Labor charges varie so the best thing to do is to call your nearest service company and ask them for an idea on what the labor charges would be. If you are planning on working on it yourself, there are two parts sources you want to check out, www.partstore.com and encompass.com. you will need your brand and model number when you ask for parts availability. Keep in mind that the problem your describing is usually repaired with both of these circuits but there is always the possible situation where there is something else related to one or more of the circuits causing the problem.

The y sus board made a poping sound and the fuse

The popping sound came from IC18.
IC18 board has an internal short causing FS2 to blow, It would be recommended to replace the entire Ysus board or if you are able to find IC18 and replace it yourself; but this is could be difficult task to desolder because of the heavy grounds and double sided board.
Let me know if you require further assistance.

Just lost picture, still have audio. How do I know

Check if FS2 is open on the Ysus, if open then the Ysus board has a short circuit between VS and ground due to a defective IC18. IC18 is the hybrid under the heatsink.
Let me know if you require further info.
