There's a little blue toggle switch where the copies/scans come out from. Pull the blue switch toward you, turn off the printer, wait a few seconds, and turn the printer back on.

This situation has happened to my HP printer. The way that I fixed the problem was to connect the usb cable, then trough the printer software on the computer while computer was connected to the wireless, the printer detected the network through usb cable. Sometimes it takes may be about 15 minutes that my printer detects the network, so I have noticed that I have to give a time to it, because it searches, and searches, and it takes some times.I recommend that you leave the printer on for at least 30 minutes. Check to see that printer detects any other neighbor networks at all, because the network card on the printer may be malfunctioning, and not detecting any network at all. If you can connect your printer to a laptop or a desktop with usb cable and use any software that comes with your printer, it should have the (connect to the wireless ) software facility.That facility will then ask you for your password and it will the set up the printer wirelessly.It is like starting all over again that has happened to me also. I wonder if Dell support can assist you or not, but they should , since they built the printer.Hope all things go well with you.

Drum unit is damaged or scratched. Replace drum. Certainly sounds like a mechanical issue rather than a software issue. I had a similar issue on my laser printer, and replacing the drum solved it.

IF this is a high use printer, there are some other things that might be in need of attention. There is a corona wire, drum and drum wiper that are consumables too.

I am not a tech person by any stretch of the imagination but if it's the thing I had so much trouble finding I can tell you. Put your hand into the area where the printed page comes out , feel along the "ceiling" of this area (mine was in the mid-front, left hand corner). There is a little toggle-type tab. hi, first make sure that the drive you installed is Compactivel with the operating system of your printer. second if windows operating system make the numbers of bits (32 or 64). third sure the paper setting this right.

hi first make sure the printer has toner. according to disassemble the power supply and assemmble again, put the sensor tab into position.

you can not do that

when printing enevelopes always ALWAYS THROUGH THE BYPASS open front door and feed thru there. on the bypass is image to let you know fce up or down follow that. also change settings on pc when printing envelopes or cardstock etc.

No Paper add paper problem but and i try everything and the problem is same no paper pls someone help!!!

You may have to use an image processing software like Photoshop or GIMP (free) to reverse the image. Then just print like usual.

Tyhe main processor needs to be reset, do to a small po9wer surge and if you remove all power going to printer (unplug from wall) for forty min. then it will reset back to normal.

I had exact same issue, could not scan in any size larger than Letter; changed Scan Default settings for paper size but made no difference. Based on dmf1984's suggestion I did same: went to Start -> Dell -> Dell Printers -> Dell Laser 1815dn -> Network Scan and changed Scan Paper size to Legal hit apply then tried scan again... problem solved
