You most likely need to replace the High Voltage Power Supply (Part# WH773). Iteminc.com has this part in stock and can ship same day. The sensor which reads if the door is open can go bad and it is part of the HVPS. Here is a video that explains this error and shows you how to replace it. This will fix this problem 90% of the time, just make sure you set the HVPS correctly on TOP of the actuator (plastic piece that hits the switch). If for some reason this does not work, check that the actuator is not broken and try reseating the HVPS and try again. Hope this helps. Good luck!
First try to cycle the power (turn it off and back on) if the error continues you most likely need to replace the fuser (part# UG297 for the 110V U.S. version). Iteminc.com has this part in stock and ships same day. Fusing is the last stage of the print process, this is where a roller heats up to melt or "fuse" the toner to the paper. Here is a video that shows you how to replace this part. Hope this helps, and thanks for using FixYa!
Hey, make sure the front door is shut, if it is, you most likely need to replace the High Voltage Power Supply (Part# WH773). Iteminc.com has this part and can ship same day. The sensor which reads if the door is open can go bad and it is part of the HVPS.
Your issue has to do with the paper sensor flags just under where the cartridge is inserted.
If there is paper or dust in that sensor(s), the printer will interpret that as a paper jam. Grab some canned air, blow everything out, and then physically examine those sensors under the cartridge area.
If the sensors were dirty, they should work now. If the "Flag" (plastic lever) that is pushed down as paper passes over it, is broken off; the sensor(s) will have to be replaced.
Make sure you flip up or back, any metal plates you can, to look for paper shreds or dust under them as well.
Try to print a document and see if you will be getting same issue. Try to copy a document and see if same thing will happen also. Check if the cartridges are not running out of ink.
At the left side of the printer is a door. Open it sliding it to the rear and then pulling it to the left and down.
Carefuly remove the memory module.
Turn on the printer and check if the problem is solved.
If so, turn off the printer again, reinsert the memory module, and turn it on again.
It may be solved.
Dell technical support says it may be a random error that is solved this way, or it may be a warning that something more serious is about to fail, and they urge you to buy a guarantee extension
