Usually this means it has lost a setting or the battery for maintaining the settings needs replaceing. If you do a hard reset and have it on the charger with a clear view of the sky it should then be forced to download the new sattelite data and start working again. This may take up to an hour depending on where you are. If you get lucky about 5 minutes. After if it does it again then you need to replace the small battery usually a coin type lithium battery to stop it. You may need to send it in to get that done. Either to Navman or to one of the online gps webstores. I would contact navman support to check on the price. If you send it to the web stores then if it is more than a year or so old check out replacing the main battery as well should be cheap and they have to take it out to get at the small one. And before you send it off make sure you know what a new replacement is worth. It may not be that much more after you add up shipping etc.

there are only tow possibilities here, on is the card is corrupted and two the card reader inside the GPS is defective, try cleaning the contacts of the card if poss, if that doesn't help u will need to have the GPS checked for which is the source of the problem, the GPS or the card, there is no easy way to tell. here is a place that can diagnose the GPS for u, you can also call them for more advice. go to the link

This is usualy a sign that the data you downloaded is not in correct format or is corrupted

Unfortunately Navman has discontinued map support for this model and you cannot update the maps. There are no new maps on SD or download available whatsoever for this model.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but if you need updated maps you will have to purchase a new unit.

just discovered that the probleb with display mode is because the maps are no longer loaded? yet on pc the maps are present? anyone know how to sort this out?

If PIN feature installed, just turn PIN off and this should bypass allowing the demo to continue. Then go to preferences from the menu, and stop the shop demonstration.

If I understood your issue correct you are looking for the internal rechargable batteries correct. Else the device needs 12V of charge to work which can be derived from your car.

And here is the procedure to replace it once u acquire a battery.

Carefully remove the front facia, this is a piece of trip that surrounds the buttons on the front, and is best removed by slipping a knife alond the left and right sides of the unit. It does come off easily.

Then you will reveal 4 screws, they hold the front of the unti to the back of the unit. Remove these screws, take care, they are small, and when you replace them do not over tighten them. They are not phillips type screws, they are the hex type, the same type that are used on many mobile phones. You can buy a screwdriver to suit very cheaply.

When all the srews are removed, you can use a knife or flat screwdriver to gently depress the locating lug at the base of the unit in the centre, there are 2 similar lugs at the top, but once the bottom one is dis-located, the two on top can just be lifted over.

When you seperate the two halves,(front & back), take care, as there are 3 wires conected by micro plugs, these can easily be withdrawn, and cannot be confussed as they are all different.

You now have 2 halves, and you will see the speaker and a wire leading behind a locking plate to the battery, remove the 2 screws that are on the locking plate/speaker, and then gently lift the plate off. You now have direct access to the battery and can simply lift it out.

This really sounds complicated when writing it, but seriously, I have just done mine, and until 20 mins ago I had never done it either. It will take you 15 mins max, because you have some instructions to follow. !!
