Navman n60i how to replace battery
Do i need to keep power to my Navman N60i as i change the battery,or is it ok to remove the battery and place the new one in. Will i wipe out the memory.Thank you.
Replace battery how do you open n60i
There are two small screws on the bottom of the case. Remove these and pry open from the bottom carefully. Note that yhe case surrounds the USB jack so take care with that side of the case when opening. The speaker is on the back part of the case and is connected to the motherboard. As you remove the back make sure to disconnect the cable before you pull far and tear the connector - it's small.
BROKEN LCD SCREEN
I have seen this with cameras, and pocket TV sets.
It is best to send the unit back for factory service. Ask for an estimate before servicing.
The parts in your GPS are not generic parts. You can buy the screen from the manufacture and find that the circuit board under it is also broken or damaged.
You may also find that the cost of the screen replacement may approach the cost of a new unit. I have seen this on many small devices. In some models the screen module comes as part of a complete matched assembly.

Generic Answer:
Read your instruction manual about "Lost Password". The unit will have to be sent back to the factory service for re-activation. With some models they allow re-activation if the unit is re-started at its home position. If you did not program a home position, then you have no chance to unlock it yourself.
With many of these devices, if the wrong password is used more than a specific amount of times, the unit is permanently locked out.
When you send back the GPS for factory service, you must include a photocopy of the proof of purchase. They may also want some ID information to verify that you are the actual owner. For this they will call you.
At the factory service, they will have to re-load the original factory firmware to unlock the device. There is no master password. Many of the manufactures will charge for their technician's time to do the work. The client will also be expected to pay the shipping costs.
Suggestion:
We tell our clients to NOT use a password. If the device gets lost it really does not matter, because it is lost anyways and it may never come back. People tend to forget their password and usually end up locking out the device anyways.
With a GPS, for personal security program the home position to be at least a few hundred yards from where you actualy live, or do not put in an address number or any name of any person. This way if the GPS is stolen, the thief will not be able to know where you live, or who you are.
Comment:
I have seen many locked out mobile phones, GPS's, car radios, laptops, and much more! Most of the time, the manufactures were charging fees to unlock the device. Sometimes the unlocking cost was fairly expensive.
We tell people to not use the lock feature, unless they are very critical to the content they have in their device.

Can i get caller display
No you cannot. Although you can receive/make calls through the b2, there is no display on the satnav itself.

I have a navman model no:no538-6000. it has frozen on the main screen
If your Navman GPS device has frozen on the main screen, you may be able to resolve the issue by resetting the device. Here are a few steps you can try to reset your Navman GPS device:
- Press and hold the power button on the device for about 10 seconds until it turns off.
- Disconnect the device from the power source and remove any batteries or memory cards.
- Wait for a few minutes, then reinsert the batteries or memory cards and reconnect the device to the power source.
- Press the power button to turn the device back on.
If the device does not turn on or the issue persists after resetting the device, it is possible that there may be a more serious problem with the device. In this case, you may want to consider seeking assistance from Navman customer support or a professional repair service.
It is also a good idea to regularly update the software and maps on your Navman GPS device to ensure that it is functioning properly and has the most up-to-date information available. You can usually find software updates and map updates on the Navman website or through the manufacturer's support resources.
