How do i know if my laptop screen is failing or it
Welcome to Fixya.
It seems like you're having an intermittent backlight issue on your LCD. I will not beat around the bush because the only resolution for this is to have it serviced, unless you're a trained/certified technician.
What's needed is to have the LCD's backlight replaced with a new one to restore the screen's complete functionality. For your convenience, I have included Toshiba's support site where a wealth of information is available, aside from contact details :

I keep getting memtest86 v2.11
MemTest is written to stay within in its own
directory and not use the registry; so to remove it from your computer, just delete
the directory in which it resides.

My laptop heats up and shuts down after a while .
Either the cpu blower is not working or the the air ventilation openings are closed. Use a brush to clean up all the openings for air flow all over the laptop. If possible use clean air under pressure towards the air openingsin co-operation with the brush cleaning. In case of using air under pressure, leave the laptop at least one hour after the cleaning to relax.
Start the laptop and check the results. In case of the problem still exists, the problem is at the cpu blower. In order to get at this blower you must open the laptop's case. Since this is not so easy I suggest to get the laptop at a technician asking for cleaning and checking the cpu ventilation.
In case you are capable of opening the case or if you come up with a problem, don't hesitate to post me a reply.
If you are satisfied, rate my solution with the "thumbs".

Mouse pad doesn't work
On the laptops keyboard you should find that one of the F Keys (ie F3) will have a picture that looks like to touchpad on it. If you press and hold the blue FN key in the lower left of the keyboard and then the F Key that might restart it working again. Good Luck

No output audio
Please check the audio with an headphone as if present then the laptop speakers can be faulty. If not the failure of the audio preamp or op amp is to be checked on the main board. If the PC functions well also check the properties of the audio drivers, reinstall and check for any fault.

My battery won't charge why not
If it's connected properly, that sounds like a dead battery. Try wrapping it in something waterproof and freezing it overnight. If that doesn't work, replace it.

How do you remove the RAM?
turn off computer unplug power cord and remove battery. turn the laptop upside down locate the door/panel that either says "RAM" of haves a symbol resembling a RAM card. remove the panel exposing the RAM, there will be two metal holders keeping the RAM in the slot. pull them away from the RAM card and the card should pop upwards then just simply take it out of the slot (remember just touching a RAM card can cause damage from static electricity take proper pre-cautions and be careful not to touch the black modules/chips on the card)

You need to install drivers.
Always
get your drivers and specific software from the manufacturer of your
Laptop, Notebook or Desktop. They are usually free of charge.
If you were to log on to the www.toshiba.com
web
site,
usually one is able to download if available, by model
number,
All
available Driver
downloads
as required.
If the driver is not
available, perhaps your manufacturer does not support the OS you are
installing.
This is the best way of ensuring up to
date drivers for your system and they are free of charge!
I hope this helps.

Hi There.
Just below is the premier site for Toshiba Laptop Disassembly (Toshiba does not make manuals available to consumers).
http://www.irisvista.com/tech/
There you will find your laptop's (or one so similar it will do) instructions with high resolutions photography for each step.
You should look for your replacement fan on ebay, using your Laptop Model# for the search.

I have a satellite A350
It's definitely a hardware problem that a software "fix" cannot repair. It sounds most likely a problem with the video processor (GPU) on the motherboard. It might also be a problem with the LCD panel.
