Removing and replacing a water filter - base grill location

Filters situated in the base grill (below the freezer compartment) of Whirlpool-built side-by-side refrigerators are relatively simple to replace. Follow these two steps:

1. Grasp the filter's end and make a one-quarter turn to the left.
2. Pull the filter straight out.

To replace with a new filter, repeat these two steps in the opposite order, making sure to first remove the red cap from the filter. Proceed by pushing the filter straight into the slot, and then giving it a one quarter turn to the right.
Note: Replacing this type of filter is quick - there is no need to unplug your refrigerator when replacing it. Also, this filter should be replaced every six months.

if you removed the inner section of the door for the drying process then it is possible that the door has warped and you have locked it in that shape on installation of the inner section loosen off the screws and twist the door so that it touches all the way around , then retension the screws make adjustments at the hinges after that

Check the fan should be run,and its air flowing way should be clean,no blockage should be in its air flow way by ice or any other item

the blast chiller fan has prob failed also check the thermal fuse on the heating elements that are around the chiller elements {used to defrost the chiller section} and if there is also one on the fan check it the beeping is prob an error code you can consult the manual or phone the makers support number to get more info on the exact error detected usually there is some reset error like hold in the button etc and power on then let it go more any more appliances have this and if you dont know to reset even if the error is cleared the unit will remain in this error mode till reset again check the manual

That is an interesting question. Hot is a subjective term; are you referring to the inside or outside of the unit. I am not sure but I believe the condenser is part of the outer shell hence it will get warm when operating. Check the thermostat setting in the freezer, it is possible it is off. I wish I could be more help.

is a multi-solution answer since I don't have all the tech from your question to pinpoint your problem
But the solution is in here generically, if you read and study the solutions very,very carefully.
First I would check cold control. Thats where you turn it off, if your temp is not warm. it can
be defective and not shutting off. If your temp is warm proceed with the following.
I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running
It moves air to the ref from the freezer
Then check to see if FREEZER CONTROL is turned WARMER WHICH MAKES THE REF COLDER AND VICE-VERSA. SEE?
The ref. temp should be about 33-35
The Freezer temp should be 0 to 10 Any thing below these temps is overkill and a waste of elect
The higher the number you turn it up to is the coldest
But is probably a common defrost problem The ice build up
is not being melted by the defrost system.The fan can't blow through the coils into the fridge.
Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean.
There are three components to a defrost system- a heater,heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.
Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. They are mostly located in freezer ,behind back panel on freezer coils.except the card which is usually located in ref The parts store will have info
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath
Make sure back cover is on the fridge. Some take them off and throw them away.
make one out of cardboard if its gone, using the holes of the old one.

Sounds like the cold control has stuck . Unplug the two wires from the cold control and plug them together. Turn one wire over and plug it into the other. away from the cold control.
The cold control is the knob in the ref that turns it on and off and has numbers on it. (Thermostat)
If it runs then that cold control (Thernostat) is the problem.
If that doesn't work DO THIS:
The relay on the compressor may need replaced
A relay starts the compressor with a higher voltage and then quickly kicks out
Thats what is happening with yours
Its best for a tech to replace The relay but you can do it
Take your model number to your Local Appliance parts store they will have a diagram
showing you how to install the relay. Its called a hard start relay
also try hooking the two wires together on the cold control to route around the cold control.

The ice maker not working: ---

Its the problem of water inlet valve. It's a dual valve. This valve has two tubes in it. One for water dispenser and one for ice maker chamber. The one side of valve is working, but other side of the valve is not working. The valve is got stuck in one position

Hello,

If the fan is running its not in the defrost the fan doesnt run then.
the things that could be the problem are;
the compressor fan is bad so compressor over heats and shuts off
the relay on the compressor is burnt so the compressor wont start
the compressor is bad

i would suspect the relay first..the fan by the compressor secondly and finally last the compressor ..its the least likely thing to go bad

Low on refrigerant which is R 12. EPA has stopped the manufacture of it and it is priced out of sight.You have a leak and will need it fixed. Compressor is about $300-400 list. You don't want to go there. Good luck but likely 15-17 years old....... New one ???
