Download photos

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

I blocked my SIM card and can not unlock it now!

SD/SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

I am trying to charge the camera battery through my pc

The camera does not charge the battery through the USB port. Connecting the camera to a computer drains the battery faster, as the camera has to use juice to communicate with the computer (even if only to say it has nothing to say). Please use the supplied battery charger or a replacement.

Formatting on Canon IXUS75

Formatting erases all information on the memory card, preparing it for further use.If you haven't done anything else to the card since formatting, you may be able to recover at least some of the photos. Do a Google search for "data recovery software" and select a program for your computer and operating system. Put the card into a card reader attached to your computer and run the program.

EOS software not connecting to camera

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer. Or you can use the EOS utility or any other photo cataloging program.

Ixus 75

Your camera will datestamp your photos only in "postcard" mode. However, the date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.

Can I switch a video from time lapse mode after it has been shot?

No. Time-lapse video is recorded at a much lower frequency than regular video. The information between recorded frames is gone.Imagine taking a picture out of your office window once an hour. You might catch some cars moving and/or people walking, but you won't be able to see what happened between the pictures. You can go the other way, from a regular video to a time-lapse video by skipping frames. Unfortunately you can't do the opposite without guessing at what happened in between.
