Using Gimp , I imagine you are using Linux not Windows. Download the latest driver from the Canon website and make sure its the correct one for Linux. I am not aware of any settings within the 810 that can be changed as print size is governed by the driver and not the printer. Make sure you UNINSTALL the old driver and don't just DELETE it .Good luck

While clicking print. There is a option for resolution. You can change there

Printing with an empty ink cartridge may cause printer malfunction. U051 / U052
U053 / U059 The ink cartridge may not be set properly, or an ink cartridge not supported by the printer is installed.
Install the proper ink cartridge.
If one of the ink cartridges is missing, this error will occur. U075 / U076 The ink cartridges are not installed in the proper position. Install each ink cartridge in the proper position. U140 An ink cartridge not supported by the printer is installed.

Sorry a little late only just read your problem.
The location is not the bottom tray feeder but the disk tray. In settings change your media type to "Printable Disk" the paper scource should automatically change to "Disk Tray" and hopefully every thing will work OK.

The manual says:Follow the directions given in the Easy Setup Instructions to install the Print Head.If the Print Head is already installed, remove the Print Head once and then reinstall it.If the error is not resolved, the Print Head may be damaged. Contact your Canon Service representative.take care putting the head in as discribed in the setup description.I'll think it over if there could me more

Had same problem, don't know why but here's how to fix it...
(1) Press the HOME button. Wait for about 5 seconds, select [pliers & screwdriver icon], and then press the OK button.
(2) Press the [right cursor] button to select [sliders & levels icon], then press the OK button.
(3) Press the [down cursor] button four times, then press the OK button.
If the Bluetooth unit is connected to the machine, press the {down cursor] button five times, and then press the OK button.
(4) Press the [up cursor] or [down cursor] button to select the language you want to be displayed, then press the OK button.

From the Canon support site: "There is no driver for the OS Version you selected. The driver may be included in your OS or you may not need a driver."
