How do i avoid NEF
Set the image quality to one of the JPEG options. See the "Image Quality and Size" section of the manual (page 29 in my copy).
Service manual
Try Ebay. Usual problem is failure of motor in aperture unit
All white pic is shown on LCD when used in Manual Mode with delayed shutter timer
You are massively overexposing the picture. Manual mode means you have to set the exposure manually. You need to adjust the settings so that the light meter reads somewhere around the zero mark.
M mode is most useful for flash photography where you want a certain level of ambient illumination in the picture as well.
If you want some control over the camera but don't want to worry about exposure too much, use A and S modes. The manual will explain all of these modes.
Won't turn on
Need more info. Are you using a freshly charged battery? Do you get no power, or do you get the shutter failure/turn off and on message (the usual problem caused by the failure of the motor in the SQ unit)? If it is no power/no operation there is a 'T' fuse (5 amp 32 volt fast blow) on the DC/DC board however if this blows it generally means that there is a failure in one of the camera's circuits. This fuse is much smaller than a grain of rice.
Broken screen
Did you drop it? From you description it sounds like the LCD is broken. You may be able to find one on Ebay. Nikon stopped selling parts July 13th 2012.
Picture dark
Usually this is caused by a failure of the aperture section of the SQ unit on the side of the mirror box. First, however, check and make sure you don't have exposure compensation turned on.Unfortunately Nikon stopped selling parts to independent repair shops on June 13th 2012 so unless you can find one that has one of these parts left you will have to send it to Nikon to get it fixed.
