Canon powershot a550 lens cover damaged can this

It might. You can possibly repair this yourself with the existing parts if they're all still there. Please see this blog article discussing repair of automatic lens covers.

When I turn my 550 PowerShot on, I get a blank

Think that you might have accidentally pressed the DISP or DISPLAY button on the back of your camera. This manually turns the LCD display on and off to save batteries. You would then use the optical viewfinder in its place. To turn the screen back on, just press the DISP button one more time.

Lence dislocated. It is repaired or not? if so,

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ...

Here are some things that you can do to try to correct it. They only seem to work for less than 50% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try.

Lens Error

If you are sure that your battery is fully charged but still does not do any good, then do this little trick:

1. Hold the camera on your right hand with the lens facing the ground.

2. As you press the power on button, tap or hit the camera's base to your left palm. Do this several times.

Chances are, there could be a sand or granule of dust that got stuck on the sides of the lens, preventing it to retract properly.

Hope this helps.

Screen shows 'card locked' ,Unable to take photos

Remove the SD card from the camera. Slide the tiny switch on the side of the card to its other "unlocked" position. Reinsert the card in the camera. But if you've already tried this, see this link for additional things that you can try.

Black screen on canon a 550

Sounds like you accidentally pressed the DISP or DISPLAY button on the back of your camera. This manually turns the screen on or off to save batteries. You would then use the optical viewfinder, just like you've been doing. To turn the screen back on, press the button once more.

Memory card error

Usually, this means you need to format the card in the camera before using. This completely erases the card and optimizes it for the camera.
