1. Unplug the power cord from the back of the product.
2. Press and hold the Cancel and Color Copy buttons simultaneously on the control panel.
3. While still pressing the buttons, reconnect the power cord to the back of the product.
4. Continue pressing the buttons until the display goes blank or Reset shows on the control panel display.
5. If the product automatically turns off, turn it on.
6. When prompted, select the correct language and country/region, and then press the OK button. Press the OK button again to confirm the selection.

Was it English when you purchased it? If so, try this:
1. Unplug the Printer
2. Push Cancel and Start Copy Color at the same time while plugging the printer back in.

How many times have you tried installing the software? If more than 3 times it's always better to for an L3_Uninstall First.
To do a Level 3 uninstall:
1. Insert Disc 2. Go to Computer(Vista, 7), Mt Computer (XP) 3. Right Click on the HP CD, Click Open or Explore 4. Look for Util folder and open it. 5. Look for CCC, open it. 6. Look for Uninstall_L3, Double CLick
Follow the on screen instructions.
The uninstall will prompt you to restart the computer once it's done.
7. When the computer restarts, try reinstalling the software and make sure you do it one by one.
In order for you to do that, On the installer when you get to the agreement page there will be f four links and then a check box initiating that you agree to the rems and conditions of HP. Before checking that box.
Make sure you've chosen what software to be installed first. To do that. On the fourth link. The one that says "Select which software to install." Click on it and the only software that you want to lieave checked is the required driver. If you cannot uncheck HP Updates. That's okay.
Then click back to go back to the previous agreement page. Go with the installation.
8. Go back to My Computer or Computer. 9. Double Click on the HP Software. 10. Install the following Softwares.

• HP Imaging Device Functions
• HP Solution Center
• OCR IRIS Software

Try Scanning again. I hope you follow this and I Hope it Works. :)

Open the cartridge access door, see where is the cartridge dock .. if its not stationed on the right hand side then try to move it with your hands back n forth

Close the door and it should work.

While holding them plug in the power cord, it should turn on and then release the buttons.

It should work

By the way also chek if there is any paper which is obstructing the carriage in moving freely

Give this a try. This is an HP wizard.

Clean off the paper feed rollers with a soft cloth moistened with alcohol. They may have dust on them.

did your printer print correctly? If not...maybe the printer is installed on the wrong printer port, or there is a problem whit his USB interface. There is an option that your computer operating system is buged.
First of all try to install the HP on other PC to see that everything is OK. Then you have to look for software problems on your computer

If you have followed the manual, you've done your part right. If it is a genuine HP cartridge then most likely the chip on the cartridge is faulty.

Black printer ink in HP Printer may fail to be recognized by the printer. Most times an error message will be sent indicating that something is wrong with the black print cartridge. Sometimes the printer may accept to print with the black ink, but the printouts may have horizontal lines and very illegible letters. In such a case a manual cleaning of the print head should be carried out. In doing the manual cleaning, one should spray Windex heavily on paper towel and wipe off the surface of the print head.

I think you will need to disassemble the whole printer, in order to openly see the space where the black plastic would fit into. The space for the black piece would be visible the moment the printer is disassemble.

So turn off the printer, disconnect it's power cord, pry off the body of the printer from side and back. Also, use the appropriate screw driver where necessary.

Have you removed the shipping tape from the print cartridge? It covers the print head on the cartridge to protect them so they won't leak ink.

To remove the jammed paper from the printer

* Use the tab key provided on the left side of the printer door
* Be carefull while removing the paper.
