Most these PCs have bad batteries and HDD is bad. most. the cure is obvious. new COIN new HDD. new OS. or test the hDD first, ask. the dead coin battery can not be ignored. or get the PC repaired in a real shop.

sounds like you need to take the side off and get the hoover round the inside...dust will build up round the fans causing it to overheat....i normally paintbrush all insides then hoover..

The first thing I would try would be to wait for the machine to completely start. Even though you can't see the display you should be able to see the hard drive light solid for a while, then start to flash quickly, then it will slow down the flashing after about a minute to a slow pace or intermittent flashing. After the hard drive light stops flashing quickly, press and hold the "Fn" key (left side bottom row next to Cntrl), then press F4, then release, see if that brings back your picture.

I would guess there is a fault with with the earphone jack socket, the soldering to the printed circuit board or perhaps some of the electronic components that might or might not provide attenuation and/or tone correction for the earphones. Probably be a cheaper cure to use bluetooth. I use a usb FM transmitter so my sound files can be played on any nearby FM radio.
