The cleaning solution does not dispense

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial. There are a number of reasons why your unit doesn't spray water. It could be that the !) water tank is empty which you can fill heavy duty bladder with hot tap water. 2) If Formula tank is empty, you can fill it with Bissell 2x formula for cleaning. 3) If tank may not be seated properly, turn the power off, remove and reseat the tank. 4) If pump may have lost prime, try to turn off and then turn on the unit, wait for one minute and depress trigger. If still nothing happens, I suggest you contact Bissell 1-800-237-7691 for further assistance. I would like to let you know that you can order replacement parts for your vacuum needs. My Bissell 25A3 ProHeat wont spray water

I had two problems. No water was coming out of the main unit (it was working fine via the powerbrush) and the flow indicator wasn't spinning. Because I'm out of warranty, I did two things (after trying all the options that were posted).
1. Removed the top of the main unit. There are 4 screws on the top back lid. Once you remove those, lift the back up towards the front. The front is snapped under the bottom casing. It should come up with a little pressure, but don't force it. With the top lid removed, I had to clean several of the rubber hosing by removing them and running under warm water. I actually used a long wooden skewer to scrape the grime in the tube. Make sure you do one tube at a time and replace in as it was before moving to the next one. While you are at it, make sure the 2 sprayers on the front are clean as well. They are either orange or yellow and rubber tubes also feed into the sprayers. After I finished, I replaced the lid. It it still wasn't working, so I tried step 2.

2. Remove the hose assembly from the main handle. 2 screws and 2 bolds (don't lose the nuts from the back). Once the hose assembly has been removed, then lift off the top part of the handle. Once the top is off you should be able to open the front lower part of the handle exposing the additional electrical and more rubber tubbing. In the middle is rectangular looking object. That is the water heater. If you just ran the vacuum, do NOT touch this as it will be hot. Wait for it to cool. check the connections of the rubber tubing and make sure they are clean. In my case the tube going in to the heater was all blocked up with cleaner solution. Once I cleaned that up an reassembled in reverse order, the unit worked fine.
Hope that helps you.

Cannot remove the lid of main housing

I have a model Bissell Proheat Platinum II Model 1699 that was not spraying. It probably is similar to yours. As stated in other posts, the heater is located within the lower half of the handle where the POWER HEATER switches are. There are quite a few screws. It's easy to miss the one at the very top of the handle. First remove the accessory caddy and then remove one half of the upper handle. The other half of the upper handle lifts straight up allowing you to split the lower part of the handle into a "V". It pivots at the bottom around the wheels. It took me a while to figure out that I needed to LIFT that part of the handle straight up. Once you split the lower half, you will see the heater (aluminum box). There are two ports on the heater where the two lines connect to the heater (in and out). Use pliers to loosen the spring clip where the tubing connects to the heater to remove each line. My lines were okay. One of the ports on my heater was plugged. I used a 1/16" drill bit and hand reamed out the crud. You don't need to use a drill -- use your hand - it's safer. After you have cleaned out the ports and your tubing (if needed), suggest you try it out after reconnecting the lines to the heater but before you put the handle back together. You may find that the lines or port needs more cleaning. Make sure you have water in both the water and cleaning solution vessels. As you know, no water will spray if EITHER one is dry. Turn it on and then press the little spring that's still in the handle. Hopefully you will get a water spray. When you put the handle back together, be careful that you don't crimp the tubing. Tuck them back in the notches in the handle. Hope this helps . Good luck.

Soap from dispenser will not

These are two different problems the first could be a clogged heater soap coagulates in the heater passages and clogs the flow of water to see if this is indeed the problem turn the unit on and try and spray water with the top trigger (floor nozzle) then try to spray at the hand nozzle if you get water at the hand nozzle but not the floor nozzle it is the heater. The hand nozzle water bypasses the heater. Also check the solution or soap tank if you pull it out and there is not red seal on the bottom it may be stuck in the machine and won't create a good seal check to see if it is still in the hole where the tank inserts. As for the unit not turning on that could be a number of issues cord, switch or just over heated. Visit www.stevessewandvac.com for any parts or questions about this machine or any other.
