DI-624 is a bit old and mine has failed from overheating on occasion. Check that it is not in direct sunlight. If it is hot to the touch, see if it works after cooling off a bit. 1. You need to make sure that you have a "straight through" cable and not a "crossover".
2. the yellow cable that your cable company provided is the cable that goes from the rj45 wall connector to the "WLAN" connector in the back of the router.
If you go to router manufacturers site you will find the instruction how to to connect your router to the cable modem.
3. check also the firmware updates for your router at this site and download.
4.Use your setup disk and follow the instruction set for cable also. This should walk you through the proper setup .
YOu didn't provide the model number of your router, I would have given you the setup site for your particular router.

first of all check computer services

right click on the my computer 
then mange
after that services

check the following services

Computer Browser it's work or not 
Server 
or workstation  

if any service does not work click the service and start 

after that 
right click on the hard drive shared and full permission 

Connect a LAN cable to the router and computer. Open your WEB Internet Explorer and your in the router's URL IP configuration address.
This will be 192.168.0.1 and the default Login = admin and the default password = (blank) just press Enter.
You can now change the default password.

go to the dlink website and download the firmware , the log into the router and upload the new firmware.

windows 8 is bit tricky try deleting all existing wireless profiles and refresh the router search option now it should connect or reset the router to factory defaults and put a new wifi password or try without wifi password by removing the wifi security.

Routers will not show up in Device Manager. Because there is no direct connection to the router since it's management is done via a web based interface, it is not part of your computer's hardware.

The default login password for your router is a blank.Just type admin in username and keep the password as blank.hope it worked...

I had this problem or similar. Verizon (in New England area) upgraded my speed to 7MPS Download and 1MBS upload. It was slower than the old speed. I called in Verizon and after a lot of back and forth - well, to be fair, they were good - it turns out that the router on their site was old. They unplugged us from it and put us on a newer faster router and Voila! Worth a shot.

Where does it need a password? On the router admin page or actually attaching a Wifi device to it? Need to be more specific in problem before people can help. :o)

You can't, you will need to reset the router and re-configure it.
