Will goodman outdoor ac work with bryant indoor unit

This is true as long as it is not a heat pump. Make sure they replace the piston (metering device to match the outdoor units required piston size. Or if the indoor coil is metered via TXV, it will automatically meter the refrigerant flow. If you are mismatching a system, make sure an acid test is performed on the old refrigerant and take appropriate measures with the new system if the test shows positive acid. They need to definitely install a liquid line drier.

Outside unit fan not working

Less than 10 years old most likely problem is the capacitor. A lightening strike near by or other power surge can zap it. At any age if a new capacitor doesn't fix it and it's wired right the motor is probably bad.

Bryant High Efficiency Unit, runs

Any unit over 20 years is no longer energy efficient & it is past the lifespan of an AC. Get quotes from 3 different companies & go with best price with best warranty. I'm not partial to any particular manufacturer. They all get their parts from overseas.

HOW DO I CHECK FUSES

There will be two fuses, usually located out by your unit. You will more than likely see a box with a door on it. This door will either flip up or to the side. There will be two fuses behind a cartridge that you will have pull out. If you don't have an ohm meter, you will have to take them to the hardware store and they will probably be able to check them for you. If not, you will have to just buy them and replace the old ones.

If you have an ohm meter just set it highest ohm setting and put one lead on one end of the fuse, the other lead on the other end of the fuse. If you get a reading, the fuse is good. If the needle doesn't move the fuse is bad.

You may also have circuit breakers. Again, if it is a 240volt unit, you will have two breakers. If so, trip them all the way back and then all the way forward. Breakers are generally joined together by a clip.

Fan unit running 24/7 and

Sounds like an electric heat sequencer is stuck closed keeping the unit running. If you turn the heat off at the thermostat, does the unit shut down?
Unless you are familier with electrical controls, i would recommend having a licensed A/C Co. out to test it.

We have a 6 year old air conditioner Byrant 591B.

You picked the wrong picture...lol. You have a split system and that humm you hear comes from the contactor. That means the thermostat is asking the compressor which is outside to come on. If you hear the humm but nothing is working, Check the breaker and then replace the fuses in your fuse box by the condensing unit, or the outside unit if the breakers are OK. It should have a disconnect between 3 to 10 feet of the unit depending on your codes and city requirements. No matter what, if you stand at your unit and look at the conduit, it will lead to your electrical disconnect. It could be a sub-breaker or fuses. It is usually fuses because a breaker could take up to 6 sin waves to respond as where a fuse could take only 2 sin waves. Replace both fuses. As time goes on, fuses become warn from constant load changes and heat and sooner a latter, they just wear out like any other component. Change the fuses and fire your unit back up. If it pops the new breakers, you have other issues and it's time to call an HVAC guys.
