Bryant Furnace starts up then shuts off

If you have a standard thermostat and not a digital stat, the problem could very well be the 'heat anticipator' setting on the thermostat sub-base. It is a variable resistor that has to be adjusted to match the amp draw of the heating control circuit. In the heat mode, the heat anticipator 'warms' up the thermostat because of the heat generated through the system controls and causes the thermostat to 'anticipate' room temperature setpoint just a little before it really gets there. If set too low, the result is a short cycle, if set too high, the result is an overshoot in setpoint temperature. The average setting for the anticipator is .4. You should see a very thin 'wire wound' flat resistor under the cover with a thin metallic pointer that physically slides from left to right or right to left. The pointer is pointing to its 'setpoint'. Adjust it up .1 or .2 from its current setting and observe operation for a week or so to see if any appreciable change has occurred.

My bryant furnace fan will not turn on. Everything is sequencing, the induction fan starts and the flame lights, but the fan will not turn on. The capacitor reads 4.86 uf. Any suggestions?

Your fan delay relay is not functioning. On most furnace fan controls, there is a fan delay relay that delay the fan from turning on until it senses the temperature increase, typically around 130 degrees. once the relay senses the temperature increase it closes a contact inside the sensor and turns the blower on. It is the same device that keeps the fan running once the furnace turns off. Just take the Model number and serial number to your local dealer and get a fan delay relay and replace it.

Boiler without flame sensor

Sounds like the hot surface igniter is also a local sensor. If you unplug the molex 2 wire plug of the igniter, and turn your meter to resistance, I found that it should read under 110 Ohms. If it is over that amount, the igniter may not sense the flame. Replace the hot surface igniter.
