they should be different .... the 10000 being faster.

One of the control panel circuits may be at fault and doesn't allow the power past that point. If you have a multimeter, check the circuits in the control panel for continuity, until you find the right one.

Check the following :
Wiring (Inspect for any broken or burnt wiring)
Thermostat - burnt or shorted
Compressor - use an ohm meter. One lead on a good ground, touch each terminal with other lead. Any movement on meter compressor is grounded
Overload - Visual inspection

Selector switch - Burnt
Shorted - Control board

it sounds like your compressor start capacitor is to blame ..to get to it the front plastic cover needs to be removed ..remove the control panel to see the capacitor ..its round or ovel /silver/ an wires hook to the top of it ..look to see if the top is bulging or leaking fluid ..this helps the compressor /fan /start ..let me know.. an good luck../joe/

Sounds like a weak suction valve on compressor.How old & what refergrant?

have u checked the capacitor for the fan if might be damaged, is the fan getting power i.e 120 vac or 220vac

clean the ac with coil cleaner make sure to wash it off with water very good .

Take it out of the window and remove all the case screws. Try turning off the power to both indoor and outdoor unit

Only horizontal. The compressor won't run for long otherwise. The condensate drain would let water inside too.

So I'm assuming your house is 1200 to 1500 sqft?? Why is unit freezing?? Is the filter clean, vents open, blower motor running?? What's the Static pressure on the system?? Is there a refrigerant leak?? How about the txv?? First report the installer to the better business bureau, then find a qualified company to fix the unit. Good Luck!!
