Can't get HTS to play

Hello,

below is feature of your sony HD KDL-32ex523.

Headphone/Analog Output: The TV's side-panel 3.5mm analog output can be used to connect a set of headphones or as an audio output to connect your home theater receiver or soundbar system. You can set the TV's analog output to Fixed or Variable. You can set the TV to automatically mute the built-in speakers when a set of headphones are connected.

Regarding the above, I would recommend you use a 3.5mm to RCA cord to get audio from the TV through your HTC. Below is a picture of what the 3.5mm to RCA cord looks like:

Now purchase this cord if you don't have one.

Connect the 3.5mm part to the headphone jack of your TV and the other RCA part to Aux of your HTC. By so doing, there should be sound from your TV coming through the HTC.

I hope the above is clear. If not, please let me know.

Regards.

My power went of a for about 8 hours last night

Trace the TV audio back to its source - TV or Cable Box most likely. We have no way of knowing which. Substitute in another source to test the input.

If DVD audio works so does the basic HTS.

I still have the same problem ct mode will not go

You're under the impression that we see an historical thread that connects this request with a previous one. We don't. Start over. Tell us what is wrong and what you've done already.

This previous Fixya post addresses something similar.

http://www.fixya.com/support/t1342919-sc_pt750_screen_says_ct_mode_wont_change

---

Or is it "CD" mode??

There's a discussion of "CD Mode" on page 16 of the manual.

"If all loaded discs are DVDs, CD Mode does not work.

HighMAT menus and Video CD playback control are disabled.

You cannot turn CD Mode on or off during program or random mode.

If you want to play a DVD, press [CD MODE] again while stopped to cancel CD Mode. (CD Mode is also canceled when you switch the unit to standby, select another source, or change the disc in the play position.)

DVD and JPEG are skipped without being played."

Says ct mode on my

I am assuming you have got a panasonic DVD Home Theater Sound system.

Please confirm whether the display shows CD MODE or CT MODE. I am not sure if there is anything like CT mode.

It is possible the CD Mode button on the remote unit has been pressed. In this case press the CANCEL button or the CD Mode button and see if the system is operating otherwise.

In case you do not have the manual see this site.

If this helps then please accept the solution otherwise post a comment with some more information on what are you actually doing with the system when the problem occurs.

I have a Panasonic DVD

Hello
Reset the unit to its factory reset first and see whether it helps you. If not, the problem is with its changer mechanism. Broken pitch tooth wheels in the gear mechanism of the changer will misload the disc to proper position in the mechanism, resulting reading trouble, and changer error to be displayed. To reset the unit to its factory reset do the folloing.
# While stopped and "DVD/CD" is the source, press and HOLD "STOP" button on the main unit and [>= 10] on the remote control unit unitl 'INITIALIZED" dissapears from the TV. Turn the unit OFF and ON again. All settings will come to factory default values. [This does not workduring programme or random modes, or when set-up menu or START menu is dilpayed]
If this reset process also does not help you, be sure that the disk loading mechanism is in trouble and should be replaced or repaired. It is a skilled work indeed, as you have to disassemble the mechanism to look for any faulty gear wheels, and to reassemble it. There are alaigning points to each gear wheels, which should be coincide with each other. You must have the exploded view of the loading mechnism, which is very difficult to get; as only company service center will have these details. So, if reset process does not help you, it will be best to get this device serviced by the Authorised Service Center for Panasonic.
OK.

Sa-ht540 f61 i have removed both fans and cleaned

You don't say if perceived heat or dead fans are issues.

F61 usually means the amp has detected a short or a severe microprocessor error.

Generally speaking, an amp attempts to protect itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'nekkid'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

Check for loose speaker connections at the speaker as another possible root cause for intermittent shutdown.

I have aPanasonic Viera TV and Surround sound

The tv can't export the sound to other devices, like a receiver or a surround sound system.
If you want to hear the sound on it you will have to connect other devices to the receiver or the system. If you have a system that has video in connectors and routing capabilities (all receivers have this) you can make all the devices connection directly to it and from it to the tv.
If you have a simple system you will have to connect the video connector (the yellow one) from the devices directly to the tv and the sound ones (red and white) to the system.
