The red blinking light won't go off (i.e., A/C won't work)

Sounds to me like you have a ground problem check all your grounds, grind a bare spot and hook then on to the grinded spot, that should fix it.

Not cooling room

Assuming the unit is 'cooling' but not cooling it 'well,' I would think the unit is too small.
NOTE: 2000 Btu for every 100 sq ft of cooling space if the room is well insulated. If not - then 2000 btu for every 66 sq ft.
For example - a 12000 btu AC unit should cool 600 sq feet of cooling space if well insulated.
or
400 sq feet if not well insulated.
hope this has helped.

I have a DPAC 13009

From your description, I would have to agree with you on the pieces being from a broken fan. The good news is, that your model has a 24 month in home service warranty, so the parts and labor to repair are covered. But, the real key is having a Proof of Purchase. Armed with that, you're good to go.
Contact Danby Consumer Support 1-800-263-2629, to file a Warranty Claim.

I hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

My Danby Premiere DPAC 13009 is leaking water

Water is collected from cooling mode, not just dehumidifier mode. It does not always evaporate into the exhaust stream due to design limitations.

Of course the water should never leak even on the hottest day. Two suggestions:

Try removing the hose and attaching the external tank to see if it has any effect. Otherwise, you'll need to locate the exact source of the leak.

I am purchasing the DPAC 13009 Danby 2009 portable A/C, but....

Mae; I'm sorry to hear another good deal went bad. Door to door wholesale is a way to sell items that can't be sold in stores.. If you take a picture of what the hose connecta to and send it to me, I'll see what I can do. Explain the purpose of this hose andthe measurement of the connector outside diameter. The picture will say alot, I would appreciate it. e-mail the picture to [email protected] and we'll figure out something.

DPAC 13009 portable air conditioning problem

Remove your remote control on the unit, follow the manual step by step. First, do the emergency on/off button, then operate the air conditioning using the remote control, follow the procedure of your manual. You may notice a clicking sound of your remote control. The yellow/green color of your emegency on/off button will turn to blue. Do not put it back your remote control on the unit because he may sense the temperature of the vent, and your air conditioning will not stay on, it will shut off every five minutes. Your problem is solve.

Actually it's a DPAC 13009. We need to extend the 2 air pipes 4 to 5 feet each to reach upper windows over patio doors to keep doors locked and secure. Does Danby provide air pipe extensions? Thanks.

No solution possible, given that the air ducts going up over the patio doors are quite an eyesore. This building is entirely fieldstone outside, so either the patio doors or windows above them are the only way to go in or out.

We will return the unit and get instead one that can be placed in the upper window and activated by remote control. Thanks.

Pump doesn't seem to work anymore...

Hi, I'm not familiar with your unit and have been waiting on someone else to answer your question but it doesn't seem to be happening so here goes..... Could be a buildup of lime in the pump or the lines to and from it. I would try using some white vinegar in the tank and see if this will clean it up. If you can get some into the pump itself, It may help. If you check the manual, It mat suggest something like this or have a service # where you can get more help. I hope I have helped. kstfas

I was given the Kenmore / Danby 461.35723-7 portable air conditioner by a friend. However, it blows air not chilled cold air.

Take it into a local refrigeration repair shop. It will save you the callout fee. It likely just needs a top up of refrigerant gas, as mine did.
