Why won't my 1 yr old Danby 6000 start?
Likely, the wires connecting to the start capacitor have melted and welded together, causing a direct short-circuit, or the fan motor has melted down. You will need to disassemble the unit to determine what has burned.

The unit isn't cooling like it used to. No water builds up in the reservoir. Is the compressor dead?
Is there air flow? A clogged or dirty filter or evaporator coils could cause this. If everything is clean and you do not feel cold if you touch the evaporator side of the unit, it is not cooling. I would think something like this would be cheaper to replace than repair.
